Fantastic break. I was looking for a place where it could sleep up to 10 ppl (potentially more as the place can sleep up to 13) and big enough venue to hold a family party gathering for a joint 16th and 50th birthday party where a mixture of different ages could come and enjoy the facilities and space to relax, chat and have good food and company. This was the place! I had around 40-45 guests come during the day. And up to 10 ppl stay over. One or two extras were easily accommodated where necessary. The car park was big enough for up to 15 cars for day folk coming. Everyone enjoyed themselves. The games room with pool table was big hit and the fire log was amazing and cosy at night as we gathered round for evening chats. We could set up in-house karaoke easily in another room and the conservatory was another place for people to play board games and mingle. The owners were fantastic and showed us around and how things worked. It was good knowing they were nearby in case we needed anything but they gave us all the space and freedom to enjoy our stay. The only snag is trying to find the location first time but to be out from main facilities within 5-10 minutes makes it a great find. As close to amenities yet out in the quiet of the night. Once you know where you’re going, it was very convenient to get around me we travelled in from the village side which we found the easiest. It was a great find and I had an enjoyable stay and best family party gathering ever under the sane roof. I would thoroughly recommend this place to stay for big parties/family gatherings or just needing some alone quality quiet time.

NOT QUITE LUXURY….Torland host was friendly and approachable and left a lovely welcome pack. However, the photos and luxury description in the property listing are not a true reflection of the house which was not as detached and private as described. The owner’s house sits less than 10m away and the busy driveway and parking area is shared with dog walkers who look directly into Torland’s large sun room dining area which is used often by guests. The house has several plumbing issues which give it a lingering musty smell. Above all else though it was the uncomfortable beds that detracted from our stay. All Torland’s beds/mattresses require upgrading as the upstairs double and sofa bed both sink and roll occupants to middle, the twin beds have only very minimal covering above hard springs and downstairs double mattress is brick hard so after a week’s stay all of our party left with aches. The one advantage is that Torland is spacious and the children had plenty of room to play.

What a lovely house. Lots of thought went into this property. I was perfect for two families coming together and enjoying a restful break. Kids were very happy with the pool/snooker table. Thank you for having us.
