Guests have found the cottage in Colwyn Bay to be a charming and characterful property with a convenient location for exploring North Wales. The proximity to beaches, public transport, and local amenities like shops and pubs has been appreciated. The cottage's setting by a stream adds to its peacefulness, and the host's warm welcome has been noted. While some guests mentioned issues with cleanliness and maintenance, the overall experience has been positive, with many expressing a desire to return.
Reviews are mixed regarding cleanliness. Some guests found the cottage to be clean and cosy, while others reported issues with dirt, dog hairs, and a musty smell. The varied experiences suggest that cleanliness may be inconsistent.
The location is highly praised for its convenience to public transport, local shops, and attractions like Bodnant Gardens. Its central yet peaceful setting next to a stream is also appreciated, making it a great base for exploring the area.
Guests have enjoyed the comfy beds and cosy atmosphere of the cottage. However, some found the living room seating inadequate for the number of guests the cottage can accommodate, suggesting room for improvement in comfort.
There is not enough information to accurately score the facilities and maintenance. While some guests mentioned small maintenance issues and a few appliance problems, others were satisfied with the facilities, leaving the overall impression unclear.
The host's warm welcome and the mention of a tea and coffee welcome pack reflect thoughtfulness. However, as gifts are not consistently mentioned by all reviewers, it should be noted that such gestures, while appreciated, are not guaranteed.

Old Colwyn is a small seaside village to the east of Colwyn Bay, a major coastal resort. From Old Colwyn to Penrhyn Bay, a wide promenade winds down the sweeping bay, providing access to a lengthy coastal cycle track, three miles of safe sandy beaches, and Rhos-on-pier Sea's and port. The famed Welsh Mountain Zoo, Eirias Park with its great indoor and outdoor leisure facilities, a number of neighbouring golf courses, and a variety of restaurants and bars in both Old Colwyn and Colwyn Bay are just a few of the nearby attractions. Day visits to Victorian Llandudno, with its good shops, the attractive mediaeval town of Conwy, with its 13th Century castle, Bodnant Gardens, and the breathtaking scenery of Snowdonia and the Isle of Anglesey are all worthwhile. It's a very short walk from a cafe, a lovely bakery that we used a lot , an Aldi supermarket or a Co-op and also bus stops! The buses are very frequent as we don't drive either! The property itself was lovely and reminded me of my Nan's who had lived a short walk away! The power shower was lovely to use, bedroom was big with plenty of storage! The only negative was the very steep stairs to go up, but my Nan's was the same! We thoroughly enjoyed our stay there, even though the weather wasn't good! The Plough Inn a short walk away is recommended for food, especially their roast dinner on Sundays!!
