Central to the mountains of Snowdonia and the lovely beaches of North Wales, this detached cottage is just 2 miles from Dolgellau and 8 miles from an award winning, sandy beach at Barmouth.

Spacious home in secluded, elevated position offers spectacular views over farmland and woods to beautiful Snowdonia National Park mountains. This dog-friendly property is ideal for walkers and cyclists alike, with multiple stunning walks and world-class mountain biking within a 10-mile radius. Venture up impressive Cadair Idris or take the Mawddach Trail down to the glorious coast at Barmouth, explore some of the area’s numerous tourist attractions, or simply relax in this peaceful location.

    Our expectations were high given the 5 star rating but we were disappointed with the lack of storage in the kitchen for food we brought, the heating and hot water were intermittent and eventually stopped altogether which turned out to be because the oil had run out, there was no curtain in the shower meaning the carpet got damp, the vacuum cleaner was iffy, the light switch in the shower room was dodgy (sometimes it worked and sometimes not and made everything flicker), the beds were a bit uncomfortable and creaky. However, the view was amazing and the lounge was comfortable. We were really pleased with the electric fire when the heating packed up.

    We enjoyed a very good week at Holly Bank. The bungalow is spacious, well maintained and spotlessly clean; the location is delightful and the grounds are beautiful. Communication with the owner was very good and her suggestion for Sunday Lunch, The Brigands, was excellent. With so many of us using SatNav I would like to see the directions to all cottages include the map reference / what3words to make life easier especially in more remote areas where postcodes con cover large areas. Minimal downsides but there were no instruction leaflets for any of the appliances / heating; no broom/mop (not all of us can get down on the floor with dustpan and brush) and departure by 9:30 is somewhat unrealistic for a family of up to eight persons.
