Plas Ceiriog Country Lodge is a large, exclusive-use self-catering country lodge situated in the picturesque Ceiriog Valley. Sleeping 28 in 14 en-suite rooms it offers unique holiday accommodation and provides the perfect base to explore the local area which has an abundance of things to do. The social spaces are designed for larger groups in mind making it the ideal venue for memorable family and friend get-togethers.
Situated in the stunning Ceiriog Valley next to the Dee Valley area of outstanding beauty in North Wales is Plas Ceiriog Country Lodge. Beautifully refurbished this former hotel now offers unique self-catering holiday accommodation. It sleeps up to 28 in 14 spacious en-suite bedrooms and has large social living spaces making it ideal for family and friend get-togethers and special interest group meetings. Whether you are feasting in the magnificent dining room, gathering around the baby grand or catching up in the lounge you will have a fabulous time and with so much to do in the area it will make your stay a memorable one.
The lodge provides the perfect base to explore the local area in and around Glyn Ceiriog. It is packed with things to do and there is something for everyone to enjoy - trout fishing, pony trekking, quad biking, clay pigeon shooting, white water rafting the list goes on! The beautiful, tranquil Ceiriog Valley is steeped in history and full of natural wonders and with breathtaking views of the surrounding mountainous countryside it is fantastic walking country. The area hosts some magnificent properties such as Chirk Castle, a magnificent medieval fortress with 480 acres of ancient farmland to explore and Errdigg a stately home along with very pretty gardens. You can enjoy a canal ride across the Pontcysyllte Aqueduct or take the steam train in Llangollen. There's farmyard fun for everyone at Park Hall Farm from lamb feeding to pig racing. You can ski and snowboard in Llandudno or go on the highest giant swing in Europe at one of three Zip Worlds in the area.
After a day of adventure and exploring return and unwind at the lodge enjoying its comfortable living spaces and beautiful gardens. Enjoy a glass of wine outside and take in the view or hunker down and light the wood burner in the lounge. There is a well-equipped kitchen to cook up a feats and if you don't feel like cooking we can put you in touch with a chef to come and do it for you. With ample car parking for everyone all you have to do is sit back relax and enjoy your stay.
Please note the lodge is not a party venue - we do not allow entertainment or hen or stag party bookings.
,Living Areas:
Central to downstairs is the large beautifully refurbished reception hall, with comfy arm chairs, writing desk and ornate mirrors. It offers a warm welcome to the lodge and provides a space where groups can meet up ahead of excursions out. The lounge area is perfect for larger groups, socialise with friends on the comfortable leather sofas or find a corner and read a book from the well-stocked library. The piano and TV lounge is an absolute treat whether you are watching a film, playing on the retro video console or having a sing song around the baby-grand piano. There is a very well-equipped social kitchen suitable for catering for large groups as needed. A highlight of the property is the dining room with huge table to seat everyone allowing for banquets for memorable occasions.
Bedrooms:
There is a total of 14 comfortable bedrooms all spacious with en suite facilities. 10 beds are super king or king and 4 are twin double, all are made up with fresh linen on arrival. Two of the bedrooms are situated downstairs one of which has disabled access and kitchenette and living room area. There are 2 cots and 3 camp beds which are available on request with bedding. Most en suites have a bath and an overhead shower and toiletries and towels are provided.
Gardens and Grounds:
The lodge has beautiful grounds complete with visits from the local peacocks! At the front of the lodge is an all-weather lawn area with stylish rattan furniture so you can sit back and enjoy the spectacular views. Two sets off French doors lead onto an undercover deking area where there are benches – ideal for removing boots after a long walk. There is a BBQ and charcoal, and firelighters are all provided. There is a large carpark with ample carparking for everyone.
