What our customers say about their holidays

We really loved Tidal Drift and found it to be a genuine home-from-home!
We had one or two ideas we wanted to share with you which we hope might make it even better: As a family we are a bit driven by time (even on holiday!) and so wondered if the addition of a kitchen clock might help others of a like mind; The kitchen is extremely well-equipped with excellent pans and knives and we were comfortably able to prepare ourselves any kind of meal that we wanted (not always true of holiday properties!). We did however feel the lack of kitchen tongs, and also (in the city of fish) a fish-slice. We actually bought a fish-slice, and hopefully left it for the house; We thought it might be a lovely addition to provide a guest book for comments. This is a great way for families to extol the virtues of the property to you (of course!) but also to leave advice and experiences for subsequent guests ("don't miss fireworks on a Monday", "the Crab House is gorgeous!", etc.); Finally, we generated (ahem) a fair quantity of bottles over our two weeks and were a bit disappointed that we couldn't recycle them. We understand that you have simplified the often-complex local rules on how to process rubbish, but would it be possible to include a glass recycling box in addition to the black bin?

A really roomy and well equipped property - very much a luxury feel. It's remote - very quiet and down a long narrow road (with reversing needed at times back to passing points - although this was only needed once in our case - and also up a slope into the drive to park). Lovely night skies visible and just moments from the beach. Not a swimming beach - there's one of those 20 minutes drive away, but spectacular sea views from the kitchen, dining and living areas and the main two bedrooms. You can see all the way down Chesil beach and the light on it changes throughout the day. You can walk 25 minutes along the coast path to two good restaurants in the next village - itself a great walk (and you can come back along the top of the hill). Abbotsbury itself is also walkable (around 35 mins), as are the sub-tropical gardens which are well worth a visit. it's a fantastic property and although it sits in with other properties close by, you really don't notice them at all - it was detached and very quiet. We'd certainly go again.

I am so grateful to the owners for letting us stay in their beautiful house. We had a fantastic week, the house was spotless and had every facility required. Location amazing and we found it perfect for our family with children’s ages ranging from 16 years down to 3 months. We had a mixture of weather so on sunny days the beach was just on our doorstep and on not so good days it was a short drive to other towns and attractions......... Chesil beach great fun for the 6 and 8 year olds who both found fossil stones there......and on the one stormy day after watching the huge waves crashing on the beach Chesil Watch was perfect to return to and just chill. A lovely holiday house for a family group, spacious and clean, good quality bed linen and towel, good wi-fi signal, right on the coastal path for walking. Would highly recommend.

What a perfect place to spend Christmas. Whatever the whether, Chesil Watch had everything we could wish for. We enjoyed watching the waves crashing against the shore and a cosy evening in the tastefully decorated sitting room. We ventured out for walks along the beach with the dog and played crazy cricket on the grassy area next to the driveway. For Christmas Day the kitchen and dining room were perfect for the 10 of us. Enough baking trays, pots & pans to handle the Christmas Duck and a good amount of space around the table. This was like a home from home, being so close to the sea, being serenaded by the sea gulls and drifting off to the sound of the waves made this a truly wonderful stay. Thank you very much!

When we arrived the cleaner had just finished.
Wasnât too impressed with her cleaning but it was okay. The house itself was fab and had everything we needed. We did notice there wasnât a measuring jug in the kitchen when we came to use one but we figured away round it. The only thing that wasnât right was the washing machine it as incredibly noisy and the screen kept flickering. We thought the location of the cottage was brilliant as it was a 5 min walk to Weymouth centre and lots of pubs and restaurants. But where the cottage was situated it was lovely and quiet. If you walked out the door and up small hill you were in the cove and the Nothe gardens were lovely to walk around. Would definitely come back here again.
