What our customers say about their holidays
Nicola - Verified booking
The bedrooms in this property are compact.
The owners have clearly run out of budget and bought cheap second hand bits of furniture to put in them. The bedroom with the ensuite bathroom had a pullout computer desk to store clothes, which was covered in dust I might add. So there is no hanging space for clothes in this room. There is also no wardrobe/hanging space for clothes in the bedroom that overlooks the bathroom. They seem to have concluded putting two clothes rails in a cupboard on the landing is an acceptable solution. It isnât in my book. I would strongly suggest getting rid of the dressing table (which had a miss-matching chair which is too low for it) from the bedroom facing the garden and putting in a wardrobe. I would also suggest getting rid of the computer desk in the other room and putting a wardrobe in there. I realise it would have to be half-height as the angle of the roof prevents full height, but it would be better than whatâs there! The under-sink storage unit drawer in the ensuite has a drawer that opens about 10cm because the towel rail blocks it. The bath has no bath plug, so whatâs the point?! The child gate for the stairs is broken, we had to use a lump of timber we found outside the back door to wedge it up. They have put a fence in which stops you being able to walk from the hot tub to the back door in order to access the downstairs shower room (utter stupidity). The shower tray fascia was hanging off in this bathroom. The kitchen was largely ok, except the ice-making unit in the freezer was broken and pushed the door open, so had to be taken out. The lounge/dining room was ok, I can confirm they have put a 6 seater dining table and chairs in which were not pictured in the listing at the time of our booking. The hot tub was good, heated on arrival so good to go day 1. There is a table and 6 chairs in the garden. Also 2 sun loungers and 4 seats which had cushions in a storage box. When the sun was out it covered most of the garden except the hot tub. They could do with putting a mat to wipe your feet outside the patio door, you end up bringing in a lot of grass if it has been recently mown - which based on our experience was the case. There are two three seater leather sofas, good, comfortable. Plus another sofa, looks like a click-clack one, not sure. But plenty of seating for 6 without being on top of one another. Ultimately if the above doesnât bother you too much then go, but they just need to finesse the stupid mess ups in the place. Location is great walk down the hill to the little Tesco, takeaways then on to the beach which is glorious. This is one of three identical properties tucked on to this plot of land. We managed to squeeze three cars beside this property where the other two only have space out front for cars so 1 maybe 2 at most, otherwise youâd have to park on the street, which wasnât overall busy in June.

Lovely Converted Barn The property is in a very rural and quiet setting.
The furnishings and finish are to a high standard. The lounge and kitchen are very thoughtfully laid out, and the settee being the best we have encountered in a rental property. It is worth mentioning that the electrically adjustable end's of the settee were a great addition. All of the usual everyday requirements are provided in the kitchen area, and we cooked several meals without any issues. The heating is underfloor and cannot be adjusted at a timed 20 degrees. There is a small oil filled electric heater with can be used for top up, as there is no fireplace. The bedrooms are tastefully finished, but small apart from the twin room. We were unsure if the comfortable double beds were small doubles! The twin room would benefit from wall light switch's so you do not have to get out of bed to turn the lights off. The En-suite is a toilet and sink only, with one bath-shower room for the whole property. In addition to the property, there is an orchard and barbecue for the use of guests. We were unable to use this facility due to the weather, but it would be lovely in the summer. There were a few niggles. No welcome pack was provided, no hooks to bedroom or bathroom doors to hang bathrobes and towels etc. The rear bedroom widows look out to a farm yard with farm machinery. On arrival generally, you are only allowed to use the property driveway to unload and load, parking is in a parking area at the end of the drive. If you wish to use the electric charger for the car, please note that this is at an additional cost. However, these issues would not prevent us from rebooking the property again. For eating out we would recommend The Boathouse in Red Wharf Bay, and Ann's Pantry in Moelfe and Beaumaris for fish and chips. Overall, we would recommend the property.

We stayed at Gwel y Mor recently for 2 nights whilst attending my grandmothers funeral in the town.
We used the house mainly as a base at night. We were familiar with the property as my sister has previously hired it and we were impressed with what it had to offer, hence why we chose to hire it this time around, we knew what we were getting. Perfectly located within the town, a 2 minute walk to all the towns facilities and shops/pubs. On road parking is available but limited. The house was immaculately clean and tidy however the only downside was when we walked into the house there was a musty odour coming from the hallway- the only way I can describe it is like a bucket of dirty mop water had been spilt on the carpets and allowed to dry. It didnât affect us as we were only in the house for a small amount of time however if we were there longer it certainly would have put me off. It may be wise to find the source of the odour and rectify it for future guests. The house comfortably sleeps 6 and there is space in the top double bedroom for a travel cot (not provided by the house). Excellent kitchen facilities. Lovely coffee machine in the master bedroom although we did not use this. Excellent check in time (3pm) and check out time (10am). Towels and bed linens provided. It may be worth leaving some instructions in the house- contact details, check in/out times etc. When my sister has previously stayed these were readily available but not this time. I read some previous reviews regarding the house next door undergoing some renovation and builders being noisy- builders were present undertaking works for the duration of our stay however were quiet and it didnât affect the stay. A beautiful house and We would stay again. Thank you.

Lovely property and very attentive owner representative.
The cottage felt cosy and homely. Even in this covid time, the welcome package was a thoughtful treat, even down to the card which is now on my fridge to remind me of the wonderful time we had. Our group consisted on my 91 year old father and having a wet room with a chair was absolutely perfect for him along with everything being on one level. There should be more of these facilities in cottages. We had full access to everything including the heating as as my father has a condition which requires constant heat, again it was perfect. The outside parking was more than sufficient and the outside lighting helped tremendously. The only thing I would say is that it looked a little bigger on the photographs but saying that, for the five of us, we were not pushed for space. In addition, the other thing I would add is the furniture arrangement. We changed the two and three seater sofas around as it was easier to look at the TV, and placed the dinning table horizontal rather than vertical. We put it all back again before we left but as the cottage can accommodate six, there definitely would not be enough comfortable seating for six and it would be difficult for them to view the TV. That said, thank you for a lovely week even with Storm Arwen raging outside. Best Wishes for the future.

The location of Meadow View is great, very close to the beach and to explore the rest of Anglesey.
The house is on a plot with 2 other identical properties. We weren't disturbed but I chose to close the kitchen blind and lounge curtain for privacy. When booking I was drawn by the photos and reviews. Having staying in ample holiday cottage this one did not meet my expectation, due to the finish of the workmanship in the property, kitchen tap not fitted property, missing grout in both upstairs bathroom floor tiles and broken toilet holder as example. I would advise some attention to detail, the furniture ia dated, the garden needs attention and the grass should have been cut, hand wash to be provided in the bathrooms, 2 toilet roll per bathroom would have been acceptable, some personalised touches in the home for example, Benllech photos, a photo of Anglesey. There was nothing to indicate you were in Wales or just to make the house more homely. If these things don't bother you there's nothing necessarily wrong with this property. It was clean and comfortable, great location and ideal for 6 people sharing the cost.
