What our customers say about their holidays

Hello. We found the bungalow very dated and tired and in need of work to it.
Although it had all the kitchen items needed and it had a beautiful view, that is all that I found pleasing about it. It needs a new coat of paint on the rendering as there is algae on the front of the building and the front door needs a clean. I say this as this is the first impression we got on arrival. It did not get any better really and I have noticed that other people who have stayed there have mentioned similar things going back to 2022! However on our stay at Tanglewinds we found that the water pressure in the kitchen taps was very low indeed and the water very slow. The ceiling in the bathroom had the beginings of mould growing on it and the shower curtain had mould along the bottom to nearly half way up. That should of been changed! The shower although it worked was quite temperamental at times in regards to the water pressure. There were red wine? stains under the table in the dining room, drawers in the bedroom that wouldn't close properly, a hole in the kitchen flooring and a tear in the flooring between the washer and dryer. At the bottom of the stairs it looked like a dog had weed against the wood work and an effort had been made to clean it with bleach? The garden chairs outside need to be replaced as these are in a bad state and are filthy. I took photographs of the items I have listed. It makes me wonder, does anyone at Sykes ever physically check the properties on offer? Do the cleaners employed ever do any cleaning? and do the owners of the properties have any pride in what they own and respect for the holidaymaker who has probably worked hard and saved up to have a nice time away from home. I wish I would of stayed at home but then I wouldn't of seen the lovely view, but the lovely view is not the excuse or the reason for the rest of the property to be neglected. Christine.

The Tyn Y Buarth cottage was so clean and well presented and we were so impressed with the amount of amenities left for us e.
G. toilet roll, dishwasher tablets, hand wash etc. It really made our stay fuss free and we had a really enjoyable time. There were 6 adults and one infant staying in the house and there was plenty of room, we didnât feel like we were on top of each other, and every room was beautifully furnished, clean and so well kept, everything looked and felt brand new! We had trouble finding the cottage based on the instructions on the email that was sent to us, they need updating and correcting and making much clearer but once we found it we were so impressed with the location, the garden and the house itself is beautiful. My only bit of constructive feedback really is very minor and didnât taint our holiday it would have just made things even more perfect: there are only blinds in the bedrooms not curtains as well so a lot of light is let in, the bedrooms would be better if there were curtains; we felt that the sofas were big and comfortable but we could have done with a separate chair as well in the living room; the tap in the main bathroom was a bit stiff to switch on and it would have been nice to have been provided with a toothbrush holder. As I said they werenât major things but just slight little tweaks that would have made it perfect. Over all we were so happy with our stay and would highly recommend the house and the location, and would happily stay here again!

The property was easy to find using the clear instructions provided by the owner.
Normal SatNav didnât take us to the correct road but the WhatThreeWords location provided was perfect. The gardens were well maintained. The house well furnished with plenty of seating and cupboard/ wardrobe space, albeit the furniture was dated. The living room seating and beds in the bedrooms were very comfortable. The view from the living room is outstanding. Sea view and also countryside view! The pictures online didnât do it justice compared to sitting in the garden with a cup of coffee in the morning, looking out into nature. The kitchen was well stocked with utensils, crockery and cooking equipment. Useful information about the house and the area was provided. The location was ideal to get up or down the coast. Although the property was within walking distance from Benllech beach or even Red Wharf Bay the various narrow roads can be tricky where no pavement is provided but having an electric car charger on the driveway of the house meant we were ready to travel anywhere around the island each morning with a fully charged battery which was a Godsend. We will certainly be looking to rent this property again in the future

A totally 5 star experience.
Tyn Y Buarth is located in an idyllic position between Barmouth and Harlech around 25 mins walk to beach. The house exceeded all our expectations, immaculate from top to bottom and managed to feel like "home from home" within moments of arriving, to the point that I would have liked to swap if for our own house! Bryony, the owner popped in to say hello, to check everything was OK and even brought us some food to feed to their sheep. Attention to detail was amazing and I have to say everything we could have needed from egyptian cotton bed linen to crockery of all types to every cooking utensil you could ever need was provided. We were very lucky to have superb weather (early September) and made use of the bbq on one evening with a perfect sunset to watch in the background. We would highly recommend Tyn Y Buarth and would happily say it is the best self catering accommodation that we have ever had the pleasure to stay in. We hope to return again for another stay in the future.

The actual cottage was great with amazing views.
However, we arrived to no running water (we managed to fill a jug from kitchen sink before the system was completely empty) thank goodness we didnât drink this water. We spent from check in to late at night trying to contact Sykes to get this sorted. We were told it was a water leak in the area. It wasnât, the stop tap was turned off in January and the stop tap is located in a locked garage (fingers crossed this property doesnât have a water leak) We called Welsh Water out, who were very helpful, even gave us some bottled water to flush toilets etc. We are still waiting to hear back from the Sykes emergency contact, left a few messages on the answer phone and also replied to an email asking how they had dealt with the issue (we havenât had any contact with them since reporting the issue) However, still no contact!
