  “I spent a fabulous week in this delightful cottage which oozed quirkiness<br /> A welcome gift of wine and chocolates had been left which was a nice touch.<br /> The entire cottage was spotlessly clean and the bed was very comfortable.<br /> All rooms had efficient heating for cooler days.<br /> The kitchen was very well equipped for a full self catering experience , although there are some excellent eateries nearby and within a 2 minute walk away .The bathroom was downstairs (as with most terraced cottages) and it was equipped with a powerful shower.<br /> The cottage is in close proximity to the seafront and there is parking close by at Chequers Car Park at rear of cottage.<br /> The cottage has two lovely outdoor seating areas at both the front and rear of the property and a lovely little garden room that doubles up as a dining area.<br /> The perfect place to stay and the only things that are worth bearing in mind are that the stairs in this property are incredibly steep and would not be suitable for those with walking / mobility difficulties and there are two pubs very near to the property so it did get a bit noisy some evenings.<br /> The cottage is on a road that is used to circumnavigate the end of the promenade area in order to rejoin the main road through the town but there is an area suitable to stop and quickly drop off any luggage outside the front of the cottage before parking up.<br /> I would most definitely recommend Cockleshell cottage and would stay here again.<br /> <br /> ”

  The house was very spacious and a pleasure to stay in, well equipped and comfortable. My poor rating is more to do with the agent's service. I emailed a couple of times but didn't get a particularly prompt response, e.g. the last time I waited 14 days and had to follow up to prompt a response. I also found it quite difficult to get information from your 'help desk' about the property, e.g. I asked more about the coffee making facilities advertised in the website description, and was told that you didn't know; the person responding had checked the website photos to see what they could find out (as you keep no kitchen itinerary) and they suggested I bring any equipment with me. I brought coffee pods but they were too small for the machine. It's info like this which is really useful and make the difference in enjoying the whole holiday or needing to go out and search in local shops for the appropriate item, eating into the holiday time. We also found the checkin times very late and the checkout time too early, so found value for money quite poor when paying for a night's stay when the checkin time is 4pm - especially when trying to coordinate young children's routine.

  The property was much larger than it looks from the photos and the house was very clean and well equipped. The 'Welcome' Basket of goodies was a nice touch and my children enjoyed the Norfolk cookies! Beware though, the garden is very small with not really anywhere to sit comfortably. Not safe for young children as you can't close the gates if you have 2 cars on the small driveway otherwise you will need to park outside the property on the road. The house is ideally situated and only a 5 minute drive to Wells Next-The-Sea. The local pub, The Carpenter's Arms is a fabulous place to dine and only a 5 minute walk through the pretty village. We thoroughly enjoyed our round of golf at Fakenham Golf Club too - pretty little course, not too taxing and very friendly staff. We also ventured down to Yarmouth for an evening of greyhound racing - a really fun time and restaurant food was excellent.

  Had a fantastic week at Poplar Farm. The owners were very welcoming and the welcome pack was superb, including a delicious home made cake. The house is very well equipped, everything you could need, a real home from home. All the bedrooms were clean, comfortable and airy. Both sitting rooms have large comfortable sofas, games and a large toy box which was a god send when it rained all day. The large garden is wonderful for dogs and children to safely play and explore the little wooded area. Lots of seating in the garden to relax and enjoy the peace and spot the wildlife. Ideal place for family holidays. We had such a fantastic week the kids didn't want to go home. We would definitely go back.

  This is the second time we have stayed here. The location is amazing. The beach is literally on the door step. It was lovely going to sleep and waking up to the sound of the sea. It is also a very short walk to the town. The views from the lounge on the first floor were amazing, looking straight to the beach and sea. We spent the majority of our time on the beach, but there are so many things to do within easy walking distance (2 X mini golf courses, hiring paddle boards, etc). The house is well equipped, with an additional full sized fridge and a small box freezer in the garage which was very handy. We would definitely recommend staying here.
