What our customers say about their holidays
Dorothy - Verified booking
The house is wonderful with its spacious kitchen and lounge.
We were not able to use the garden as we were there in the winter and it rained most days. The house was spotless and the beds very comfortable. It was warm with its underfloor heating though i found the back bedroom a bit cold my friends who slept there found it fine. It was a very well stocked house. We did lots of cooking and had everything we needed to cook roast dinners. I'd have liked an itinerary of all the kitchen stuff though as i took a lot with me that i needn't have taken. there a washing machine and dryer and fridge freezer in the garage which were well used too. and lots of logs for the log fire which we didn't get to use. It was expensive though being xmas week. The house is in a lovely spot but those roads are scary in the dark especially when you drive there in winter after 4pm and the instructions which were emailed presume you have a day time view of the world which i did not. The longitude and latitude was helpful as it takes you to the door. The only improvements... 1 The oven is very noisy for a long time after use and i had to switch it off at the socket. 2 There's an expectation you leave the house as you found it in the instructions but they expect you to be out by 10am which is nay on impossible unless you get up at 6am. We left it clean and tidy but i wasn't going to start cleaning ovens and mopping floors etc surely that is what the turnaround time is for and the very high costs? Much better if you allow people to leave at 11am and arrive at 3pm esp in winter. I know that will be hard. 3. Parking is snug with two large vehicles but these are minor things. I would stay there again happily

I emailed this to the property management company in the welcome pack on Wednesday and have no reply!
It needs addressing as ruined what could have been a perfect stay. Perhaps you can take it up on our behalf, as you should have advised us: Firstly Iâd like to stress that we have been extremely pleased with the accommodation itself, it is very well equipped and in a perfect location. However we were not made aware that there is extensive building work occurring on the joined cottage. Iâm not sure if youâre even aware as normally Iâd assume there would be a warning email to guests at the very least, or an option of price reduction. . Yesterday morning we were woken to constant loud noise of demolition/drilling and it was not at all possible to sit outside at the back, the plaster dust has covered the garden completely our /wetsuits/ washing line weâre covered in it and also came inside the house causing my husband to have a tight chest (albeit very minor) Today there is a cement mixer parked out front where we sit. The builders are nice guys and are just doing their job so we have not said anything to them, we are not the type of family to ge confrontational. My daughter is here with us trying to revise for her A level mocks and having been through a prolonged 7 year renovation project you can see this is not a great situation for us. It would be wise for you to advise the next guests prior to arrival, Iâd hate for someone else to struggle

The house was excellent; comfortable, warm and clean with great facilities for a 3 generation family including a toddler.
The kitchen/diner was very spacious and extremely well equipped. The living room was spacious and had plenty of comfortable seating. We had fun lighting the fire (the fireguard was most welcome as we had young children) and the coffee table was a great size for board games and jigsaws. The room was huge and the furnishings were great quality which really made us feel we were on a luxurious holiday. The bathrooms were great, a real treat to have 3, it gave us space and privacy for 6 adults and 2 children. The bedrooms were quiet and very comfortable. In terms of the setting, the village is quiet and the local pub was good and an easy walk in the dark. There are nice walks in the area, take your boots though as it can be muddy. We had access to the garage which was great for wet coats and boots as well as laundry. The lanes are fun to drive in but a bit nerve wracking if you are not used to high hedges and passing places. Overall this is a great property with excellent facilities, a cot, highchair and stair gate were provided. We had a couple of queries when we were there about minor things but the response was immediate and we were very happy. If I had to suggest changes it would be access to a small freezer and a second stair gate but this is very minor and not a criticism.

Seal Cottage is a lovely little gem in this part of Devon.
We visited Woolacombe some 25 years ago for several holidays and wanted to return to this beautiful part of Devon for a long weekend. We stayed at Seal Cottage, it is lovely, it had sea views from the lounge and upstairs main bedroom. All three bedrooms were doubles with the most comfortable beds and two bedrooms were en-suite. The owners had thought of everything, you wanted for nothing. We had our own holiday home in Lanzarote for 11 years before selling it two years ago so we know what it is like to rent property and our feedback was always 'like home from home' and this is exactly what Seal Cottage is, a 'home from home'. Although we went into Woolacombe each day, we could not wait to return to the cottage for a lovely relaxing family time together just chilling and watching some films. It was so quiet and the owners had on supply for you games, freeview TV and if you wanted a picnic the cooler bag and plastic cups etc were there for you to use. Everything from the kitchen equipment to the bed linen were top quality. We will certainly be returning to this little haven we have found. Thank you for a wonderful stay.

The house is well situated, in a lovely quiet spot, pretty village and delightful area.
There are steep steps to get up to the front door, which might be tricky for some. Good directions to the parking area, for which we were grateful. Beautiful views from front of the house, and lovely walks nearby. Most rooms well furnished and comfortable; the third bedroom has less storage facilities than the others, and no mirror or dressing table. The other bedrooms are very good, clean, with excellent en-suites. The kitchen is well stocked, with good quality kitchen wear, everything one could need. Sadly, the mobile telephone signal is appalling and it was rare that we could communicate with family, from within the cottage. There is a landline, to which we needed to resort and the honesty box is a nice idea. The cottage was booked, quite clearly for 3 people, and a confirmation email sent to this effect, however, there were only sufficient towels for 2 people. We did contact the owner/caretaker on the number provided who rectified this omission immediately. The Devonshire cream tea supplied as a complimentary welcome gift was also only for 2 people.
