  We did send an email regarding the cleanliness of the property at 23.02 on 17 November but have not received any reply. Bathrooms appeared to be as used by previous residents and not cleaned perhaps for a considerable time - a gross hair ball was in the bath and what looked like hair and toothpaste all over the sink. There was an unpleasant mark on one bath towel and on stripping the bed the pillows were stained and the mattress cover stained - really disgusting!- we took pictures if required. The kitchen had food residue in the sink and crockery and pans , very unpleasant. The house itself was fine and a lovely position and we have stayed in Suffolk secrets properties before and are staying in one in Southwold first weekend in December. This is the first time we have had this experience and it has made us a little unsure of going to unknown properties. We have stayed at Thallassa in Aldeburgh on many occasions and cannot speak highly of them for quality and cleanliness.

  The place looks a little grubby from the outside. But inside is decent enough. Reasonable decoration. Good sized rooms. But the beds are a nightmare. The springs on the super king mattress were excruciating. We were forced into bringing the cushions from the sofas downstairs up to the bedroom to get some chance of sleep. The double bed on the same floor had a huge dip in the middle. (We did discover on the last night that there was a prop under the mattress frame that had collapsed. Surely this should have been checked beforehand ) We were given 3 toilet rolls for 6 adults, 4 kids and one baby for 4 nights!!! No bath or shower toiletries! No welcome pack as promised.When it did materialise it included tartare sauce!! On the plus side the discount in the nearby cafe, which was very good, was welcome and the kids took full advantage of the free access to the adventure playground. But this is scant compensation for sleepless nights.

  Northcliffe was a dream! We were two families and our parents, ranging from 7 to 79 and dog. Five of us were there the whole week then the others visited throughout. Our parents are both poorly so really wanted this trip to be relaxing and togetherness. The views out to sea were lovely. Position was spot on with only a short walk to town or the pier. We did lots of reminiscing of my childhood in Southwold. The house was amazing. The decor was second to none, with its mix of modern, old and quirky and colourful, without being overpowering. In fact, a new picture from the Serena Hall gallery is on order, as the picture in the lounge will forever remind me of our family time together. Absolutely loved it. A house you could just sit back and relax. Space for everyone, either together or apart. The beds were so comfortable, no one wanted to get up! We won’t hesitate in going back. Absolutely delightful.

  We spent two nights at Northcliffe, a group of 14 ladies celebrating a very special birthday. The house was perfect for us. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we could need and our Private Chef, who cooked for us on the Saturday evening, was impressed with all the equipment in the kitchen. The lounge, dining and games room were furnished really nicely and were very comfortable. The bedrooms too were lovely, bedding and towels were all spotless and once we got the heating on, the whole house was cosy and warm. The bathrooms were also good and we were able to shower and bath at the same time and it didn't affect the running or temperature of the water. The parking was really good for our three cars as there were spaces right outside and the location was perfect too, looking out over the sea and the pier. Overall a lovely experience for us all.

  We stayed in the marina's cottage for a week in October.

  We stayed with family members so there were 5 adults and a baby. We absolutely loved our stay here. It was comfortable and very spacious, it was bigger than we had thought judging by the photos. The location was amazing with the beach a few minutes walk away. Perfect for a morning dog walk which we thoroughly enjoyed. The house was clean, warm and comfortable. It had everything we could need and more. We did have a problem while we were there and this was resolved very quickly by the owner nothing was too much trouble. If I had to make one critism it would be to have larger beds in the front 2 bedrooms as the beds were very small extremely comfortable but small. We had an amazing time at this property and would highly recommend and we would visit again. Thank you for everything
