Muncaster View is a cosy cottage set on a working farm in a stunning part of Cumbria, offering beautiful views and easy access to local walks and attractions. Guests consistently praise the friendly and welcoming hosts, the warmth and comfort of the property, and its peaceful rural location. While some mention minor maintenance issues and occasional cleanliness concerns, most found the cottage well-equipped and ideal for exploring the Lake District. The rural setting means limited internet and occasional flies, but the overall experience is positive, with many guests keen to return.
Most guests found the cottage clean and tidy, with several describing it as immaculately clean. However, a few reviews mention cobwebs, dog hair, mildew, and occasional issues with cleanliness in the fridge and bathrooms. These negative comments are outweighed by the majority of positive feedback, but they do lower the overall score.
The location is highly praised for its beautiful views, proximity to walks, and easy access to local attractions such as Wastwater, Ravenglass, and Muncaster Castle. The rural setting is appreciated by most, though one guest found the property hard to find. Overall, the location is a standout feature.
Guests frequently mention the cottage as warm, cosy, and comfortable, even in winter. The beds are described as comfortable, and the living space is spacious. Some guests found the upstairs hot due to windows that could not be opened, and a few noted issues with spiders or damp smells, but these are less common.
The cottage is generally well-equipped, with positive comments about the kitchen, washer-drier, and en suite bedrooms. Some guests noted maintenance issues such as a blocked shower, loose toilet seat, small TV, and limited internet. The lack of a stair gate when requested and some missing kitchen items were also mentioned. Most facilities met expectations, but there is room for improvement.
The hosts are repeatedly described as friendly, helpful, and welcoming, often going out of their way to ensure guests have a pleasant stay. While some guests mention thoughtful touches, there are no specific references to gifts, so guests should note that such gestures are not guaranteed.

The property was very comfortable and clean. Wonderful and interesting location on a working farm with beautiful views. This cottage is well placed for anyone planning to walk the middle sections of the Cumbrian part of the England Coastal Path.

Cottage is on a working farm so be prepared for chickens, cows and a friendly goat. Cottage was immaculately clean and equipped to a high standard. If you have a dog , take note, the stairs are wooden with no carpet which ours ( a Greyhound) found hard to navigate at times. Beautiful views. All in all a very good choice.
