A charming, terraced cottage that come s in the small hamlet of Waberthwaite, in Cumbria. 1 Park Nook Close comes in a rural location with splendid views, comfortable living areas and a pub next door, making it perfect for couples or friends to come together and enjoy a break. The hamlet of Waberthwaite is on the West Coast of Cumbria in the Lake District National Park, comprising of a scattering of cottages, farm dwellings and a pub. Waberthwaite enjoys a position amidst countryside and is situated close to beaches, coastal walks and conservation areas. The skyline is dominated by the peaks of Scafell, Great Gable, Hard Knott, Harter Fell and Muncaster Fell and nearby the valleys of Eskdale and Dunnerdale provide scenery to be enjoyed. Local attractions include Muncaster Castle, a World Owl Centre and the Ravenglass to Eskdale miniature railway, all of which provide wonderful and varied days out.

Accommodation

Two bedrooms: 1 x ground floor double with en-suite shower, basin and WC, 1 x ground floor double (zip/link available on request.) Ground floor bathroom with bath with shower overhead, basin and WC.

First floor kitchen.

First floor sitting room with dining area with electric fire.

Oil central heating with electric fire.

Electric oven and hob, fridge/freezer, washing machine, dishwasher.

TV with Freeview DVD player, Wifi.

Fuel and power included in rent.

Bed linen and towels included in rent.

Off road parking for one car, additional free parking and The Cow Inn next door.

Two well-behaved pets welcome.

    The property is warm and bright upstairs. It’s a short drive to the Ravenglass and many lovely beaches. The off road parking is a bonus. The kitchen is well equipped. The Brown Cow pub is two doors away, it’s friendly and serves good food. Overall we enjoyed our stay at 1 Park Nook Close. The road can be noisy when motor bikes and Lorries pass by, it didn’t spoil our stay but could be an issue for light sleepers. The property can accommodate four people but the only proper shower is in the en-suite and the bedrooms are small and cramped so better for two, we left our bags, clothes etc in one bedroom and slept in the other. Knocking the bedrooms into one larger room would work better. I messaged the owner twice, once before our stay to ask whether I needed to take cleaning products and once when we arrived because the WiFi didn’t work. I got no response. The land line for the owner is the same as the Brown Cow Pub, we used the pub a few times and ate there, everyone in the pub was friendly but felt really disappointing my texts had been ignored. For info, The photos on the website are out of date, there is a new sofa and flooring upstairs, the furniture in the bedrooms is different with more drawers and shower cubical in the en-suite has been replaced.

    Being woken up at 6.30am every morning with the noise from the pub! The dishwasher wasn’t working, the bath was leaking Wouldn’t be staying here again
