Guests say

Isabella Cottage is praised for its peaceful setting, excellent walking opportunities, and convenient access to both countryside and city attractions. Guests appreciate the spaciousness, dog-friendly environment, and welcoming touches from the owner. While the majority found the cottage clean and well-equipped, some noted dated furnishings, limited kitchen space, and noise from adjoining doors. Overall, the property offers great value and a comfortable base for exploring the area, with thoughtful extras enhancing many stays.

Most guests found the cottage clean and tidy, especially the bedding and bathroom. However, a few reviews mentioned issues with the kitchen floor and general datedness, which affected their perception of cleanliness.

The location is highly praised for its tranquillity, proximity to walking routes, and easy access to Newcastle and Northumberland attractions. Some minor noise from the airport and trains was noted but did not detract significantly from the overall experience.

Guests generally found the cottage comfortable and spacious, but several mentioned uncomfortable sofas, a cold downstairs area in winter, and an old mattress. The adjoining doors to the owner's property also affected privacy and relaxation for some.

The cottage is well-equipped for families and dog owners, with games, DVDs, and essentials provided. However, some guests found the kitchen small with limited workspace, and noted that some furnishings and facilities could benefit from updating.

Many guests appreciated thoughtful touches such as welcome packs with milk, bread, wine, flowers, and essentials. Please note that these gifts are not guaranteed for every stay.

Plenty of walks from the cottage.Parking is a bit tight around the back if you have a big car, but plenty of room at the front on the road.Upstairs bigger than expected!Lots of books, games, dvds and cds to keep to occupied if wet and windy! All in all a good cottage for a taster visit to the area.

We had a great holiday at Isabella Cottage. Welcome pack of milk, bread and wine was a nice touch and gratefully received.Well equipped cottage in a lovely countryside setting, with lots of walks straight from the door. Also a handy location for Beamish Museum and other historical sites, Hadrians Wall etc. We encountered a problem with the cooker, which was swiftly sorted outand all was well.Overall, we enjoyed our stay and recommend Isabella Cottage.
