Water's Edge in Whitby is highly praised for its superb location, offering stunning river views and proximity to local amenities. Guests enjoy the wildlife, including seals, and the charm of passing steam trains. The property is well-equipped, clean, and comfortable, with a particularly loved conservatory. It serves as an excellent base for exploring the North York Moors & Coast.

Reviews consistently mention the property being extremely clean, with only a few minor comments about stains on carpets and chipped crockery, suggesting high standards of cleanliness overall.

The location is frequently highlighted as excellent, with tranquil river views, abundant wildlife, and easy access to Whitby and other attractions. The presence of a local pub, butchers, and cafes adds to the appeal.

Guests find the property comfortable, with quality bed linen and well-furnished rooms. Some guests noted the beds were too soft or creaky, but overall comfort levels are high.

The property is praised for being well-equipped, particularly the kitchen. However, there are mentions of minor maintenance issues like a broken window lock and a finicky dishwasher, which slightly affect the score.

While guests express high satisfaction with the property and its amenities, there are no specific references to gifts or extra thoughtful touches provided by the hosts, so a score cannot be given in this category.

About this property

A superb, modern terraced property, situated in an enviable position on the banks of the River Esk, in the bustling village of Ruswarp, two miles from the centre of Whitby. Set in the grounds of a former mill, this spacious Ruswarp cottage has been beautifully furnished to provide first-class accommodation, with contemporary styling throughout. This Ruswarp cottage boasts a bright and airy first floor sitting room, with lovely views over the river, whilst downstairs, the well-equipped kitchen leads into a sunny conservatory, a perfect room to sit and relax in and watch the abundance of wildlife on the river. Ruswarp itself offers good amenities, including an excellent butcher's, local shop, village pub and boating on the river. A nearby public footpath provides a pleasant walk into Whitby, with its narrow cobbled streets, long sandy beaches and famous abbey.
