Penmaen House in Gower, Swansea, is a well-loved holiday cottage that offers a comfortable and spacious stay with stunning views and a variety of activities. Guests appreciate its family-friendly atmosphere, extensive grounds, and proximity to beautiful beaches. The property's charm, including a pool and games room, makes it a favoured choice for large gatherings and special occasions.

The property generally maintains good cleanliness, though some guests noted areas for improvement such as moth-eaten carpets and the need for better upkeep. The presence of antiquities adds to the charm but may affect perceptions of cleanliness.

The location is highly praised for its beautiful views, beach access, and proximity to the Gower peninsula. It is considered perfect for both relaxation and outdoor activities, contributing to its high rating.

Guests find the house comfortable and homely, with ample space for large groups. The presence of multiple staircases and cosy fireplaces adds to the comfort, although some guests mentioned issues with cold during windy days.

The range of facilities, including a swimming pool, games room, and large kitchen, are well-received. However, some guests reported maintenance issues with bathroom facilities and appliances, suggesting a need for updates and repairs.

While guests have had memorable stays, there is no mention of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness from the hosts. Therefore, a score cannot be provided for this category.

This house is ‘faded elegance’ but is charming. The setting is outstanding with fabulous views and easy access to stunning beaches. The pool was a huge success with all 3 generations of family. If you want somewhere really ‘smart’ this isn’t for you, but if you are active and in a large group this place ticks lots of boxes.

Absolutely wonderful holiday home for our family of 14. There was so much for everyone to do in the house so didn’t have to worry about weather. Wonderful gardens and views, and so many lovely walks and places to visit. We would love to come again!!

Penmaen house is a large old house with lovely views from the grounds . It also benefits from footpath access from the grounds to not only the nearby beach and great beach walks but also to the coast path between Three Cliffs Bay and Oxwich which is a beautiful area.
