Immerse yourselves in the natural beauty of the Gower Peninsula when you stay at this delightful cottage in Southgate. Sleeping four guests, the two-bedroom, dog-friendly hideaway is 0.5 miles from Pennard and 8 miles from the bustling city of Swansea. It is also in an exceptional position for long walks across the Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and trips to the beach.
Head inside to find accommodation that marries historic charm with modern comfort. Return from your exciting days out to relax in the welcoming lounge. Settle on the soft seating to chat about your day or watch a good film on the Smart TV; open the French doors on summer days to bring in a breeze. Wander through to the kitchen/diner to cater for your friends and family. This generous space has everything you need to help you prepare tasty meals with your own ingredients, plus a large table for happy holiday meals. There is also a utility space in the kitchen. Take a few steps up to the family shower room. Make your way up to the first floor via a winding, cottage-style staircase from the kitchen. Here, you will find a twin bedroom and a family bathroom. A super-king-size bedroom, which can also be made up as a twin by prior arrangement, is up a few more stairs. Soak up the Welsh sunshine in the cottage garden at this retreat. Have a cup of tea or a glass of wine out here after your trips out.
Pack your beach gear and head to Caswell Bay, 4 miles away, or Three Cliffs, 4.5 miles from the cottage. Venture 5 miles into Mumbles to potter in the independent shops, dine out and see the castle. The ruins of Pennard Castle are a 1-mile stroll from your base.
Mrs Hughes
lovely holiday cottage. perfect position to get to Pobbles! Suited our needs perfectly and very comfy beds. Will be back again for another visit in the not too distant future.
Mr Wilkinson
The cottage has a comfortable lounge and bedrooms. Beds have good quality mattresses and linen. The lounge is small but comfortable. The kitchen is adequate. Table and chairs are old-fashioned, tired and let the property down. We understand the VERY close old bungalow on the same site (sharing the garden) is also to be converted/upgraded to a holiday let. If that happened it would impinge a great deal on the privacy of the cottage guests. We would not book it again under those circumstances. Would cautiously recommend as it stands.
Mr Hart
A lovely cottage which was perfect for relaxing. Great location for exploring.
