A beautiful property quietly situated in Ringstead. We had a lovely Christmas with our sister and her family at The Coach House. There was plenty of space to socialise, relax, cook and simply be together. The kitchen was well equipped and the underfloor heating ensured we were lovely and warm despite it being a chilly late December. Ringstead is well located for the beautiful Norfolk coast and villages - Old Hunstanton, Brancaster, Thornham, Wells and more. We were spoilt for choice when planning our daily walks along the coast. There are many excellent pub/restaurants within easy reach and the excellent Gin Trap is only a couple of minutes’ walk away. We were able to pre-order top quality fish and seafood from Gurneys just down the road at Drove Orchard - a delicious starter for Christmas dinner! We should also mention and recommend the wonderful Ringstead General Store which is an Aladdins cave! We were able to order bread, milk, croissants and more ahead of our stay.

Shoal Cottage was a gorgeous base for our holiday. Having the sea view was beautiful and it was lovely to pop over to the waters edge with the dog. The cottage was warm, comfortable and extremely well furnished. The art work was amazing. Having a downstairs bedroom with en-suite was perfect for my 85 year old mum. Having the cafe next door was really handy and I’d recommend it. There’s a children’s play area near the car park. A little shack selling the best crab and lobster. A really good pub/restaurant just up the road and Overstrand village is lovely. The cottage is an ideal base for exploring Norfolk and there is plenty to do for all ages in the area.

Our dogs settled and enjoyed their holiday too and behaved very well. Being of the older generation away with our daughter and family we were so lucky to find ground floor bedrooms because Mum is unable to climb stairs, Next time we would have to bring a higher toilet seat for Mum. Overall a wonderful time was had buy all.

It is lovely hearing the owls in the evenings. Going on a seal trip was the highlight of our trip.
