What our customers say about their holidays
Mrs Groves - Verified booking
It’s a beautiful property, being a country farm house located in a remote and peaceful rural location with a fine pub only minutes walk away. We had lots of space to spread indoors and the garden was really large. Perfect for a dog to prance around in freely and securely. This was also a fantastically peaceful place to sit and enjoy the weather. Indoors had an excellent stock of books and board games too, which was an added bonus. The beds were soft and comfortable. The house was very clean and tidy upon arrival too. The kitchen was well stocked with equipment and appliances all of which were easy to use We particularly enjoyed the little arrival gift bag of milk and goodies. Thank you. The house is an excellent base for walking, with footpaths leading to the beach, across some spectacular countryside, from the front gate. We mixed eating out and cooking in over our weeks stay. The Eels Foot Inn (uber convenient being around the corner) has a great menu and fine ales and wines. There’s also numerous great foodie pubs within a short driving distance. We particularly enjoyed The Poachers Pocket at Saxmundham. All in all, a very peaceful and relaxing Suffolk holiday home.

On the whole, it was a gorgeous property. Lovely house and garden in a wonderful location. The decor is wonderful. There were a few really major issues however. (1) Fungus growing in a damp patch on the wall in one of the twin bedrooms, where my children slept - unsightly and a health hazard. (2) Beds - the single beds in the room nearest the bathroom were very hard and lumpy, and uncomfortable to sleep on. Also, the double bed did not have a mattress protector on it, only a top sheet. A mattress protector or undersheet is absolutely essential and I just couldn’t believe there wasn’t one there. (3) The Fridge door was misaligned and required a lot of force to open and close. It was almost too much for my elderly mother in law to manage it. The door handle is loose - if it falls off, it will be almost impossible to open and close the fridge which will really spoil a holiday. (4) A new loo brush is needed upstairs as the current one leaks. It really was a nice place to stay and in many ways Willow Cottage is absolutely stunning but unfortunately the issues mentioned above have a really negative impact on the place. Were the above issuers corrected, I would definitely return.

We have loved every minute of our week at Easter Cottage. We had warm sunshine to enjoy the garden and when the evenings dropped cool, a cosy living space to retire to. The kitchen and utility room were well equipped and well used. The location is superb being so close to the village green, shop and pub. Both the cottage and local area are very dog friendly, even the majority of the beaches welcome dogs all of the year - Sizewell, Walberswick, Covehithe, Dunwich and some of Southwold beach too. There’s car free walking days to be had right from the front door. We booked this holiday in September 2019, for May 2020 and finally got to go in May 2021 due to the Covid19 pandemic. We are so grateful to Suffolk Secrets and the cottage owners for smoothly and painlessly rearranging the holiday for us as it has been like rehabilitation back into real life. Thank you from 2 re-energised adults and one exhausted dog!

Easter Cottage was everything we could have asked for. It was spotlessly clean, very comfortable and apart from the TV in the lounge which we struggled with, the appliance information folders supplied were very helpful. The cottage' s location couldn't have been better. It was situated in a lovely village just 15 minutes from the coast and with towns for shopping not too far away and attractions to visit no more than a half an hour away. In the village we had access to a small shop and post office, there were good pubs and a delightful tearoom which we enjoyed and the beautiful Suffolk countryside on the doorstep. Last but not least a large and totally secure garden for our dogs.

Lovely spacious and well maintained cottage, one of the best we have stayed in. Thank you for the lovely bag of goodies on arrival, much appreciated! Suffolk is as lovely as ever, we have visited a lot of our favorite places, and found some new ones andwe are very pleased to see how dog friendly the county is. Some recommended dog friendly pubs are: The White Horse down the road, The Crown in the Village, Sibton White Horse, The Ship Inn Dunwich & The nelson In Southwold. Westleton Common is great for dog walks and is a real hidden gem, at this time of year it is absolutely beautiful. We have had a lovely relaxing week, thank you.
