Why holiday in the Cotswolds?

The Cotswolds is the perfect destination for a group holiday. With so much to see and do, you and your gang will never want to leave.

Spanning six glorious counties, the Cotswolds is the second largest Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in England and is the ideal backdrop for your group holiday. Filled with rolling hills, jaw-dropping views, beautiful woodlands and stunning sleepy towns and villages, it's a great place to escape from it all and make memories with friends and family.

The Cotswolds are famous for some of the most picture-perfect villages in England. Each one is traditional, charming and full of cute and quaint buildings you and your crew will love exploring. Don't forget to stop into a village pub while you're out and treat yourself to some good old-fashioned pub grub!

You'll fall in love with the cobbled streets, thatched cottages and pretty streets of Bourton-on-the-Water, Stow-on-the-Wold and Chipping Campden and won't be able to stop snapping photos in Bibury, which is known to be one of the most photographed villages in the country.

The Cotswolds is also steeped in history, with plenty of castles and palaces to visit such as Sudeley Castle and the incredible Blenheim Palace. If your party are history buffs, you won't want to miss the Avebury Ring, built during the Neolithic period and considered one of the greatest marvels of prehistoric Britain.

Glorious walks are of course a given in the Cotswolds. Gather your gang and head off to the Cotswolds Way, which follows the western edge of the Cotswolds Hills. You can spend the day rambling through picturesque villages, beautiful countryside and epic historical sites.

What our customers say about their holidays

  • Peter - Verified booking

A wonderful family three days was spent by us at Arlington Mill.

(There were ten of us). It is an amazing building and is just right for a large family group. There is so much space that everyone was satisfied with their own en suite accommodation. We ate in on two nights, preparing huge banquets in the massive and well-equipped kitchen (two freezers and two fridges!). The Catherine Wheel Inn is a stone's throw up the road and did us proud on one evening. This mill is an amazing place and there is so much to see in the village and surrounding area. It is a delightful part of the Cotswolds. Just one or two minor gripes. When using previous rented accommodation we have usually had a TV set in the bedrooms. Arlington Mill does not, though we were probably too tired to bother, anyway! The TV in the lounge appears only to receive programmes via Sky as Freeview failed to pick up any signal. The soundbar failed to switch on and is very precariously attached to the set. I am familiar with the model and it seemed to be inverted? We tried everything to get it into action, but it seemed dead. We brought DVD's with us for the grandchildren but were unable to use them as the player was not connected to the set and the leads appeared to be missing. The heating system is quite complex and not to be messed with! The timer appeared to be incorrectly set though we were frightened to fiddle with it and left it well alone! In leaving it as it was the heating seemed to come on very late in the evening and hardly at all in the morning when we were getting up. The master bedroom, however, was always warm. As a result, we had to purchase heaps of logs and used the very efficient log burner to heat the dinning and associated lounge area where we spent most of our time. These are only minor gripes about a holiday let which is second to none. It certainly has the 'wow factor' and is well worth the money. Congratulations to the owners who have done a great restoration job on what is a wonderful old building of some significance.

The cottage was lovely, in a beautiful village, the bedrooms were great and spacious.

It was strange having an bathroom for 2 rooms to share that the second room had to go through the first room to access it. We were all family but my sister was staying in that room and my husband in our room so it meant a bit of planning to ensure they didn't walk in on each other! The garden was nice but had no seating and it was lovely weather so we had to carry chairs outside and I asked a friend who was living nearby to bring us some camping chairs. The company arrived with garden furniture on our last day so it will be there for others but we missed out! The kitchen and laundry room were not very clean when we arrived. We had to clean the bins and the laundry room floor, some of the plates and glasses were also dirty. They could do with adding a coffee machine for a property this size and grading, its only £70 and it would be a very welcome addition. Also a bit more lighting around the dining table would be a good addition as its a dark space.

Jubilee Mews is a perfect cottage to explore the lovely Cotswold area.

The cottage was very clean and comfortable. The kitchen was fully stocked with implements for cooking and all the equipment dishwasher oven worked well. Upstairs the bathroom and en-suite were very clean and accessible( I am disabled so struggle). The Royal Oak is very close just five minutes walk away and the food is exceptional. We visited twice there because it was so nice. Very friendly staff and the fish and chips were so tasty. The garden is a nice size and is completely enclosed if you hsve a dog. We had a lovely afternoon sitting in the sun in the garden. Sharon the lady who manages the house was very approachable. We had a problem with one of the windows and she was there within half an hour. Nothing negative to say about this property at all.

A wonderful holiday I cannot recommend it enoughI have stayed in many cottages but this really was a home away from home. It was as though the owners had just left to go out to the shops! It was quiet, pleasant and comfortable. If you have a dog or young children it has a very suitable garden and there is a wee park just across the road. The shops, cafes and restaurant are about a five minute walk away with the co-op the same distance through the park. The town has a lot to offer and I strongly recommend the market on a Tuesday morning. It is easy to travel all around the Cotswold area in a car from here and nothing seemed to be further than half an hour away. Even visiting at the end of February we were delighted with not only the house but also the area.

A lovely large 3 bedroom house with private drive and garden.

It is tastefully decorated throughout and spotlessly clean. It is in a quiet cul de sac within a quiet village with a shop and a pub within walking distance. Almost everything was thought out although a fan would have been nice in the hot weather Having a downstairs toilet was a nice bonus and the bath was nice and big. There were skylights in most of the upstairs rooms which really could do with a blackout blind on them especially in the main bedroom as it is right above the bed and lets in the light at sunrise which at this time of year is 5am! Extra suggestions would be a power shower in the en suite bathroom and a TV in the main bedroom but these are just suggestions Overall we enjoyed our stay, a lovely house and area
