What our customers say about their holidays

  • Leanne - Verified booking

We would urge guests not to waste their money by staying here.

We have been unable to enjoy our holiday due to cleanliness issues, mould issues, maintenance issues and a lack of communication. We were appalled at the state the house was left for us. All three toilets had splashes of faeces on the seat and in the bowl, there is a build up of mould and limescale on taps, all plug holes are black with mould, there was a build up of dust and hairs on the bathroom floors- so much so that it created a whole condensed line of dust under the door, continually scraping along with it! The main bathroom shower has a build up of black mould on the grout, there was dirty streaks on the bathroom mirrors, brown marks / dust/ hair inside bathroom cupboards/ shelving, dust and hairs round bath, scum buildup(?) on soap dispenser in bathroom, there is a (?)rising damp issue in the master bathroom as the walls and paint are crumbling and it was left all over the floor. In the kitchen, there was brown splash marks over fridge door- of which also didn’t have a light inside. The cupboards are full of mismatched dirty pots, there wasn’t even a sponge or one dishwasher tablet to re clean the pots so we went and bought our own, to find that the dishwasher doesn’t even work! It probably needs a cleaning tablet cycle/ salt/ rinse aid(?!) but the pots came out after a cycle as dirty as they went in, hence the build up of dirty pots in cupboards!! There was also crumbs and dirt in the cutlery tray. The smaller en-suite bedroom had mould and hair in the bottom of the wardrobe, and a divan valance was used as bedsheet on this bed! There was thick dust /brick-dust on radiators, skirting, and ornaments and a large area of black and pink mould on dining room wall/ ceiling! The general upkeep/ standard of the house does not live up to the photos or reflect the pricing. The paintwork is an absolute mess, 1 layer of patchwork white over a previous darker colour, you can see the old untouched blue paint through the radiators, paint all over the ceiling, no skirting boards in some rooms. There are no curtains/ blinds in the lounge/ kitchen/ diner area- you’ll get a lovely view into other peoples homes and them into yours! Someone else’s security light will shine into the kitchen with every cat passing by too! The lack of curtains also makes this large area very very cold! There is no storage in master bedroom, no batteries in the remotes upstairs and no fire lighters/ lighter/ matches for log burner. You’ll also find that there is no contact number for the owner which was really handy! We contacted Sykes on the day we arrived, however, as it was the weekend we didn’t receive a response until Monday, they informed the owner of the cleanliness and mould issues. She then made contact with the cleaning company but failed to make any contact with ourselves during our entire stay! The cleaning company made contact with us and offered a re clean- we declined as we had purchased our own cleaning supplies to clean the house on the evening of our arrival day (2 days previous) in order to be able to use the bathrooms!! Therefore, there was no requirement to have a cleaner again as we had already done it ourselves! You’ll see a review left in January that the house was also filthy for previous guests, and the owner hasn’t done anything to rectify this before our arrival. After being here 4 days, the cleaning company contacted us again and offered us some compensation directly from their company, We really appreciated this acknowledgment. In summary, if you expect a clean or luxurious holiday home (like the title suggests), this isn’t for you! The owner couldn’t care less. Absolutely gutted and appalled at every aspect. On the plus side, a nice location and some groceries left for a welcome pack.

The holiday cottage was the perfect place for 2 families of 4 to stay.

As soon as we walked through the doors into the spacious hallway with plenty of hooks for coats and a rack for shoes, we knew it was going to be good accommodation. It was all freshly decorated and finished off well with little homely extras that made it feel like home from home. There was certainly plenty of room that we never felt on top of each other; the lounge/dining area and kitchen were very spacious and very well equipped with everything we needed and more. It was clean throughout and had little extras like Alexa, binoculars to admire the fantastic views from the veranda and a welcome milk with sachets of tea, coffee and hot chocolate. Even the dog wasn't forgotten about - there was a bowl and treats for him too. Straight across the road from the Chapel you could be straight onto a footpath which took you up onto the hillside. From here there were fantastic views looking over the bays of Llandudno and Conwy, together with views of Little and Great Orme. It was the perfect location to easily access the many attractions in the area, whilst also being peaceful in the neighbourhood. We are unable to comment on the village pubs as they were not yet open due to covid-19. Saron Chapel was probably the best holiday cottage we have stopped in and we would certainly stop there again. I would also like to add that the owners, Alex and Neil were both very helpful and easy to get hold of if we had any queries. They can both be very proud of what they have achieved with the Chapel. We have just returned from a weeks stay at Coed y Felin and had the best time.

I can't find any fault with the property at all. It is clean, well maintained and super comfortable. Vanessa the owner is very helpful and approachable. The kitchen had everything we needed in terms of crockery, utensils and equipment which was a real bonus. Having the three lovely bathrooms was also a great bonus. Location wise, the house could not be better situated. It's in walking distance to all the delights of Conwy, with it's beautiful town, castle, marina, harbour and beach: you can see the castle from the house. There are two big supermarkets only four minutes drive away. Conwy is a beautiful place to walk and explore with many other places in close proximity. We enjoyed trips to The Great Orme in Llandudno, The Swallow Falls in Betwys y Coed, Beaumaris on the island of Anglesey and to LLanberis where we walked up to the summit of Yr Wyddfa (Snowdon). The city of Banghor is only just over twenty minutes away. There are many great places to eat in Conwy and we had just the best fish and chips ever at "Woosey's catch of conwy. All in all, we had a great time and will definitely return.

Saron Chapel is a lovely, comfortable well-equipped property.

We stayed in December and were surprised and delighted that a large, well decorated and lit Christmas tree was situated in the lounge/ diner. There were also lots of other welcome treats provided such as milk, butter, prosecco, biscuits and treats for our dog. The kitchen was extremely well equipped with dishes, cutlery, glasses and utensils and we had everything we needed. There was lots of space to cook, eat and socialise in. The weather outside was in the region of 5 -10 degrees but inside was lovely and cosy, the underfloor heating was a real treat and the beds were extremely comfortable. We had a great week here and would definitely recommend it.

Saron Chapel is a beautiful home.

It is very well eqipped with everything you could need and very clean and well organised. The views from the balcony are beautiful Sea view to the left fields and hills to the right. The owners were exceptionally helpful leading up to our holiday ensuring we had all relevant and up to date information. We loved our stay and could wholeheartedly recommend Saron Chapel Sadly I could not return because of the pets allowed policy. I am a dog lover but can react badly to animal fur fortunately our booking was very early in the season so I was not affected and also the cleanliness was of the highest standard otherwise I would not hesitate to book again
