  We rather liked this house and village and had lots of fun. We have left constructive suggestions about minor improvements in the guest book but there were no major problems. The photos suggest a larger garden and whole house for rent: in reality some is private which means living space is limited - we had active children. As mentioned in the description the stairs really are steep and maybe need a gate at the top. But this is obviously a family home of fond memories at a fair price so no complaints. It is mostly 20th century style with some updates, and four good sized bedrooms. The village has a decent riverside shop, pub and playground. Its church is exceptional, well worth a visit, and Kings Lynn has loads to do only 15 minutes away by car: a bus stops outside for occasional daytime use. This area is less touristy than the well known coastal neighbours - but its feels real west Norfolk / marsh / fenland and much quieter so offers a different experience to enjoy.

  Beautifully converted barn, situated in lovely gardens, with a countryside view. Short, 5 minute walk to the village centre, with a great butcher's shop, Co-op and pub. Plenty of walks nearby including at the nearby reservoir, River Orwell and River Stour. Ipswich is only a 15 minute drive away and the coastal towns of Felixstowe, Woodbridge, Orford, Aldeburgh and Southwold are all easily accessible for a daytrip. Venturing inland you have the interesting towns of Lavenham, Cavendish and Bury St Edmunds. The house itself has 3 double bedrooms, a great kitchen / dining and living area, as well as a nice patio with garden furniture. Overall a great place to stay and enjoy the Suffolk / North Essex countryside with friends and or family!

  Lovely clean and comfortable cottage. As in a lot of cottages, the stairs are very steep. Wet room floor can be slippery. I have some mobility issues , I managed but it was a little difficult. The pub that’s 5 minutes away is NOT doing food . Absolutely marvellous dog walking from the door, with great views across the river and you can see for miles, great for our reactive dog who could be off lead. We could see if anyone was coming and it was very quiet anyway. I would recommend the cottage but warn of the stairs and wet room. Nearest beach is about 16 miles. Great places to visit but we perhaps travelled a bit more than I wished to , to beaches and activities. The Hillside shire horse centre is fantastic and Cromer is nice.

  We really enjoyed our stay. The property was very clean and warm when we arrived on a chilly afternoon. A perfect setting for exploring north-east Suffolk's wonderful coast and countryside. We loved exploring the area on foot with occasional ventures further afield to Orford Ness and Framlingham. We would happily stay again and recommend the cottage to friends. Suffolk Secrets are 'on the button', quietly efficient and readily available to respond to any queries. We would book through them again and recommend their cottages to others.

  This a nice cottage, comfortable sofas, the main bed was also good, the main bedroom is superb. Totally dog safe in the back garden. Lovely views and peaceful. To access the top room and single room it is necessary to walk through the main bedroom, which is not made clear in the information. Tons of hot water to bath or shower. The top room is very cold (we were there in January). We wouldn't recommend staying in winter, but other times, especially for families would be wonderful. You can hear the sea.
