  The property was absolutely gorgeous.

  It was warm and cosy when we got there and spotlessly clean. Lovely big fridge and freezer. And loads of things provided that Sykes didn’t know, and we couldn’t ask directly of the owner so ended up bringing coffee, tea, salt, pepper, dishwasher tablets, washing up liquid, cleaning cloths etc when it was all, very helpfully, provided. The garden is secure enough for the dogs to walk around as long as someone stays with them. Beautiful views and the goats are just gorgeous. And of course, Percy the peacock deserves his own separate write up! The only 2 niggles were the double bed upstairs, thin mattress on a VERY hard base. All other beds good though. And no instructions on how to work the oven or kettle. The kettle we worked out but the oven was really hit and miss. Thankfully my brother had come across similar and knew the magic touch. Other than that, I would definitely stay here again. Sykes communication was quite good from start to finish, good instructions etc and then the owner himself text me on the day with more detailed instructions and was super helpful in leaving the door unlocked so we didn’t struggle in the dark. Really thoughtful. Plus the most beautiful Christmas tree with lights and a lovely cake, mince pies and milk and Prosecco were also left which was a really lovely touch and gratefully received.   Very confusing as instructions incorrectly stated the barn had an orange door, the proprietor had to stand in the road to wave us down as it is a green door.

  It was very dangerous pulling out into the road as it is on a bend and there are overgrown trees blocking the view of oncoming traffic, a mirror on the other side of the road would be very beneficial. The vegetation around the barn could do with cutting down as opening windows was a bit difficult. There were no instructions for any of the kitchen equipment and there was no colander. None of this affected our stay though, a bit of tlc needed on it otherwise we had a lovely time. The Guernsey goats and the peacock were lovely. The welcome pack was appreciated with fresh eggs and wild flowers. The barn itself is well equipped for 6 people and it is very central to visit the surrounding areas. Found the nearest pubs are in Halesworth, The King's Head and The Angel. Had a roast at the Queen's Head in Bramfield which was lovely.

  We had a lovely stay here in this very clean little cottage in Dunwich. The decor throughout has been very thoughtfully selected. The stairs are a little tricky/wonky for any mobility issues particularly with the only toilet upstairs. We found the storage heaters difficult to use as they gave out very little heat. You can buy good firewood at the farm shop & cafe a couple of miles away. The welcome tray of home laid eggs was much appreciated. The little garden/courtyard is well designed and a delight to use in good weather from the kitchen patio doors. The location is great with several walks from the property and the fabulous birdwatching area, Minsmere, just around the corner. There are many places to visit nearby including walks at Thorpeness and Orford & of course Southwold, Walberswick & Aldeburgh.

  Beautiful property in an amazing tranquil location. The property has everything you could need and was like stepping back in time! The kids loved having an open fire every evening…. Very quirky, uneven floors everywhere but a lot of love and history in the building. Great walks on the doorstep…our goldies had an amazing time exploring and not far in the car to great beaches if you don’t want to walk along the river. Some fantastic local pubs within half hour walk as well! Super comfy beds and the owner was so lovely when the range in the kitchen stopped working (it did not affect our stay but I would have loved to have done more cooking on it!)

  Immaculate property, easy enough to find, guest was sent us a text as we were close to the property which allowed us in a bit early, very welcoming, great welcome pack with useful information. Property is as per the photos, really great back garden to allow our pooch to roam around. Great smart TV which had Netflix, Freeview and of course you could your own accounts for other channels. Kitchen was lovely with lots of everything and the welcome pack with some basics. The house is well located for easy footpaths to allow yourself and dog for a walk. Would highly recommend if you fancy peace and quiet away from it all. Big thumbs up from us.
