Guests have consistently praised the Giraffe Enclosure in Thetford for its cleanliness, peaceful and relaxing environment, and thoughtful touches. The property offers a comfortable glamping experience with ample amenities, even in inclement weather. The surrounding woods provide a natural retreat for both adults and children to explore and unwind.
Reviewers have noted the property as 'lovely and clean', indicating high standards of cleanliness that contribute to the overall positive experience.
The property's secluded setting in the forest, away from the hustle and bustle, yet within reach of local amenities like a village pub, is highly appreciated by guests.
The accommodation is described as comfortable and warm, with heating blankets and a fireplace to ensure cosiness even on chilly nights.
The property is well-equipped for a glamping experience, with a hot tub and the ability to have campfires. However, there is no direct mention of maintenance, so the score reflects the positive feedback on available facilities.
While guests have expressed gratitude for the experience, there is no specific mention of gifts or special thoughtful gestures that could be quantified, so it is not possible to score this category. It should be noted that such personal touches, if provided, are a bonus and not guaranteed.
On the outskirts of the village of Thompson, this wonderfully hidden Giraffe Enclosure safari tent is the perfect glamping getaway for a family, set in a dell under a canopy of beech trees in an historical wood in rural Norfolk.
The tent comfortably sleeps up to six people, with two king-sized beds (one in a cabin) and a set of twin beds. There is a beautiful hand-painted roll top bath in the bathroom, making winding down after a day of exploring that much easier. The sitting room is ideal for relaxing, whether it be by the wood burning stove or watching a film on the television. If it is alfresco dining on the deck or having a warming meal inside, the well- equipped kitchen is a great place to cook up a storm. Outside the tent is a firepit, with plenty of seating surrounding it - what better place to discuss the day's activities, or roast marshmallows under the stars.
The wood where the tent is nestled has a history of its own - King Edward viii wood was planted on top of the old foundations of the Hall, following its demolition over a family dispute. The dell was excavated in order to find the flint which made up the foundations of the old Hall as well as the walls in the Walled Garden.
The Giraffe Enclosure has its own private wood fired hot tub and a complementary access to the natural swimming pool located within the Wilderness Spa - A bespoke outdoor spa experience to relax and unwind under the beautiful mature trees in King Edward viii Wood. Mr Atkinson
Lovely place, quiet, serene, comfy with everything necessary. Perfect for a summer weekend break. No other people on the site, countryside is beautiful, lots of walks to be had and a pub a walkable distance away. Perfect.
Gareth and Family
The property, hot tub and secluded location were amazing, kids (and adults) had a lot of fun. Managers were friendly and helpful. Even though it rained most of our stay, the place remained warm and comfortable. The owners had put a lot of thought into the appliances and utensils for a truly glamping experience.
Janet
