About this property

Leominster 2.6 miles. Nestled in the small village of Stoke Prior near Leominster, is this truly unique holiday home, The Lamb Inn. This detached property is a former pub, which retains a lot of its traditional features, including a bar, jukebox and toasty woodburning stoves. With its proximity to historical attractions and wonderful walks, The Lamb Inn is a superb base for a family or group of 12 friends. Be greeted by a large car park, with enough space for up to ten cars and admire your grand holiday home with its substantial garden. The owners live next door in an annex, so you don't need to stress about anything! Step inside to discover the large bar area where you can pour yourself a beverage and unwind on the sumptuous sofa with the entertainment of the jukebox. For some alone time, why not escape the group and curl up in the snug room, where the crackling woodburning stove will keep you warm as you relax with a good book in hand. Moving through the property, locate the sleek kitchen/diner, where the designated chef can make use of the electric oven and hob to rustle up culinary delights. There is also a dishwasher and washing machine, so you don't need to worry about making a mess! On warm evenings, take advantage of the great garden with a play area for the little ones and picnic benches for the adults to soak in the sun with a refreshing pint. As eyes grow heavy, retire upstairs, and indulge in a soak in the roll top bath, pour in the bubbles and let the world melt away. There are five bedrooms to choose from, including a master with a double, a sitting area with sofa bed and TV, as well as three doubles and a bunk bedroom. Awaken with a rinse in the ground-floor shower room, along with a handy, separate cloakroom, or enjoy the privacy of the en-suite before joining your guests in the kitchen/diner for a steaming cup of coffee. Lace up your walking boots and ramble the 7 acres of Moors Meadow Gardens to soak in the countryside views or marvel at the gothic rectory at Ralph Court Gardens. For an Area of Outstanding Beauty, jump in the car and explore the rolling hills of Wye Valley or spend the day at the country house of Berrington Hall. Budding historians may wish to visit the market town of Ludlow, home to a medieval castle, an interactive museum and the lovely stone built, Dinham Bridge. For a special escape to Herefordshire, choose a stay at The Lamb Inn.

Leominster is nestled in the magnificent border area along Offa's Dyke, where England and Wales shove each other. The town of Leominster, which dates back to the 7th century, is home to several outstanding specimens of architecture, including the Priory Church, as well as a broad variety of shops, cafes, and pubs, and is the ideal place to spend a peaceful afternoon roaming around in pleasant surroundings. Tenbury Wells, a minor market town on the banks of the River Teme, is close by.

The garden is incredible and we made full use of it. Bedrooms are comfy and we'll presented and the entertainment area is lots of fun. Would definitely recommend to others.

Property is a detached building, however you do not rent the entire building as the owners are on-site in an attached Annex which runs along the side and above the accommodation. The owners were very pleasant, welcoming and showed us around. Whilst they gave us space to enjoy our break, they did use the same front door and access staircase which led to four of the bedrooms in order to gain access to their side of the property. The owners told us they are intending to add access to the Annex to stop the use of the same door in the future. When booking we were given the impression this was a large detached property allowing us the freedom to feel at home. Unfortunately having the knowledge that we were physically sharing the same building (and staircase) led us to feel slightly uncomfortable, knowing that we would disturb them during our stay. Likewise, a number of guests heard them and their pet at the property moving around which caused some concerns to certain members of a group including a reactive dog in the party. The description states there is a pool table and this was a factor when we booked, but upon arrival found out this was missing. The juke box requires money to play music so ended up listening to own Bluetooth speaker instead. The organ works and was a great addition for a sing along. As mentioned the description needs to be accurate to manage expectations, however, that said the pub is a great idea for stay and we all had a thoroughly enjoyable time. It could be an absolutely amazing property with some tweaks.

Unfortunately didn't expect to share it with the owners who's only access is upstairs on the landing, past bedrooms/bathroom & through the front door. Led to a couple of awkward moments, which could have been much worse. The owners & Sykes don't seem bothered by this. Will not be booking with either again.
