What our customers say about their holidays

Thank you so much, we enjoyed our stay at Y Bwthyn enormously.
We visit it often in our memories. It's a very beautiful, well presented Chapel house with spectacular views of the hillside. We were made to feel especially welcome with a lovely hamper of delicious treats. The milk in the fridge was joy to behold as we had not managed to purchase any on route and we were all ready for a cup of tea when we arrived!! The interior is well thought out and cosy. It was lovely to have both a bathroom and walk in shower. There is attention to detail with plug in nightlights to help navigate the property at night and a discreet stair gate to safeguard younger visitors. Y Bwthyn is situated in a very quite area with an abundance of wildlife. We enjoyed many a morning and evening watching the nesting Martins and pipistrelle bats flying around. The three free range sheep who would walk past the Chapel on an evening, pause to stare at us before munching on the hedgerow, made us smile as we sat out enjoying a nightcap in the property's front garden. The Velux windows in the property allowed the light and breath taking views to stream in, adding to the serenity and beauty of the property. There are lots of lovely walks in the vicinity, such as bird rock and an iron age fort, Castlle Y Bere and large lake for wild water swimming. Aberdovey, Tywn, Barmouth and Dolgoch falls are all well worth a visit. It was lovely having Sue, who owned the property, so close by, and we did enjoy our chats and seeing her amazing photographs of animals, birds and landscapes. Thank you very much for having us. Really enjoyed our break at Stoneycroft .
The house is tastefully finished inside & to a high standard, very much home from home . Access is good from where the car is parked making it easy to carry cases in to the property. The kitchen is well equipped ( Loved the coffee machine) & the welcome pack was very welcome :) As there was only 2 of us we obviously only used the one bedroom which had a really comfortable bed ( slept well). The one bedside lamp didn't work properly but didn't cause a problem . The only other thing was the blind in the picture window in the dining area was brokren . Again this wasn't a problem as your'e not overlooked . The views from the house & garden are brilliant . If there is a problem , its got nothing to do with the house but where it is , halfway up a very steep lane, which is a real lung buster when you walk up into the town , which would present a real problem if you had any disability. Other than that thoroughly recommended.

I suggest donât book this property, I stayed 4 nights and I cleaned every where before i leave.
after that I received email from sykes saying I left cup and rubbish all over the place and they took couple pictures which I believe it wasnât there . I cleaned the kitchen, sitting rooms and everywhere properly. They talk nonsense, we had only moved the beds only forgot to put that in the same position. They charged me £200 for moving the beds??? This is bullshit service, how can they expect to leave the place like unused. How they expect us to stay there, and when leaving we should clean like not be used . Its toke one hours clean all over now they send me another £200 bill for cleaning and charged me for it which is shocking. Apparently they send me an email letting me know that they will have access to my bank account and they will charge me and they did which I believe itâs not right

The property was prepared for Christmas with the decorations up and treats in the kitchen.
There are log burners in all the living spaces. But the heating is ticking over in the background so they are not needed unless the outside temperature drops below say 10 degrees. The accommodation was large enough to comfortably hold 3 small families and 2 guests. The place was spotless and the kitchen well equipped. The ceramic hob for us gas cooking types was a bit awkward but nothing that couldn't be overcome in order to cook Christmas dinner. All bedrooms had an end suite toilet and wash basin with 1 shower and 1 shower bathroom. Great location I only wish the weather was kinder to have allowed us to explore the area more than we did. The pizzeria BTW near the railway station is amongst the best I've tasted. We will be going back either as a group or as a couple.

Y Bwthyn is a true hidden gem.
Susan the owner was so lovely and the welcome basket went down a treat. The cottage was just perfect. My disabled mother really benefited from the down stairs very large double bedroom and the e-suite wet room was beyond ideal. Y Bwthyn cottage was spotless and we wanted for nothing. There was everything that you could possible want. It was cosy but so roomy at the same time. The 2 upstairs bedrooms were also extremely spacious and the bathroom too. Susan was so friendly without being invasive. She was very informative about the history of Y Bwthyn. I honestly can't think of a single this that was not perfect. We may have only had a couple of days there but I would truly love to go again. I cannot recomend Y Bwthyn highly enough. Thank you Susan
