What our customers say about their holidays

Lovely Cottage, really well equipped except for the fridge which was far too small for a family of 4 who wanted to self cater!
The lounge was really comfy and cosy, some really nice touches such as the blankets. Loved the big corner sofa. Bedrooms were lovely and big and beautifully simply decorated with some great finishing touches. This cottage has lots of thoughtful touches such as the storage unit in the bathroom, the basket of board games, the pile of DVD's and the gorgeous scones and clotted cream on arrival. The only slight downside is Kenegie Manor itself, it's all a bit run down, the shop opens erratic hours as does the restaurant. The one night we went to use it they had stopped serving food early as they were too busy..... They did helpfully supply us with numbers of takeaways that delivered to the Manor though!! Amazing area to visit would highly recommend Mermaid pleasure boats - we went out and saw seals and dolphins. Also the Minnack Theatre had a great children's show - fabulous fun for everyone. Would also recommend Tremenhere Landscape Gardens just minutes from Kenegie Manor, we had a lovely lunch there and beautiful and interesting gardens.

We understood that Bell Cottage was situated within a Holiday Park and that the property was in a terrace, what was not made clear was that this cottage although privately owned was one of a considerable number of similar cottages.
I doubt we would have made the booking had we realized this. There was no privacy to sit outside and the garden furniture needs replacing. We noted your advice to park thoughtfully - it was a shame other residents did not and on a number of occasions when returning after a meal out we had to park in the main car park. A big advantage was that the cottage was cool in the living room and the sofa was very comfortable and was throughout very clean. It was a nice touch to have flowers and the biscuits and fruit juice. We lost WiFi on the Thursday and the owners were really kind and helpful and arranged for an engineer to visit which we really appreciated. The downside for us was the location, parking and we felt the price was somewhat steep. However this was Cornwall following a pandemic and in the height of season but we do feel your description of the cottage is not truly reflective.

We could not fault 17 Valley Lodges.
We stay in a lot of holiday homes & the owners of this one had thought of absolute everything!! It was immaculately clean & beautifully presented. The location is ideal especially for families, a 1 minute walk to the indoor pool & even less to the outdoor pool. The pub, recreation & games room again is all just a minute away. We used the football area & tennis courts - the lodge even provided tennis rackets & balls. This was not a negative for us but if you had mobility issues the site is pretty hilly & you cannot park directly outside the lodge. You are just a 30 second walk to your car on a footpath but just worth a mention. We would highly recommend it here. We have 2 boys of 6 & 8 & it was brilliant that the pool depth was a maximum of 1.1m depth. It just gave the younger one real freedom in the pool. Itâs a brilliant family holiday we loved it. Thanks so much!!!

We really enjoyed our stay.
We felt at home straight away and loved the layout of the property. We had everything we needed and the welcome treats were great (thank you). The property was clean and had lovely bedding. The 2 bathrooms were fab. It has a lovely outlook. On warm days the verandah is wonderful. The fact the membership for the swimming pool and gym is included is a real plus. We went swimming 3 times during our stay (it was very quiet at this time of year). We ate at the on site pub twice and the food was delicious! The on site shop was useful too. The train journey from Gunnislake to Plymouth was delightful with some stunning scenery. We also recommend a visit to Kit Hill and Cotehele NT both a short drive away. We look forward to another stay in the future.

Very disappointed with the cleanliness of the property in particular the bedding was not changed.
There was blood on the duvet in main double and we found a pair of pyjamas at the bottom of the bed. There was also blood on the duvet in the other double also. No hand-wash in either bathrooms or kitchen. We found mouldy frozen pancakes in the freezer. There was only 1 teaspoon ? No baking trays so we were unable to cook anything in the oven this was a big inconvenience to us as we did not have funds to eat out. Lack of personal touches. The WiFi was terrible and we couldn't even use phones or laptops. The whole property was very dated and shabby. The location was lovely but we would not recommend this accommodation to others and we ended up having to spend money we didn't anticipate spending on food. We will be contacting Sykes to discuss further.
