  On booking the property no warning no visitors allowed on the property.

  found out after paying the non refundable fee. booked for 10 nights for 6 adults. when i was able to speak to the owner I made it clear as i booked the property for my family visiting from cyprus I would be visiting. I also informed her that they would be arriving very late early morning and I would be waiting for them the owner assured me that was no problem. Originally I was expecting 7 of them I would wait for them to take one of them to my house. 6 arrived plus my son who helped them to find their way from the airport. He had his own car and left shortly to go to his own house. They arrived later than expected due to bad weather at about 2am that is 6 adults with 12 suitcases. Next day a text from the owner complaining that the quests next door were awaken and complained. Also a rude reminder that only 6 quest sleep on the property. I assumed that they have cameras on the driveway and saw me leaving on my own. I answered to her texts when i spoke to her she said it was the noise when they arrived not any noise when in the property. 6 adults, 12 suitcases gravel driveway and the 2 properties very close together. The property on first glance is very beautiful and very clean. The log burner one of the reasons I booked it, some wood ready to use when I asked for more I was told I could buy it locally I foolishly assumed that was included to the price. Despite our best efforts not all radiators were working the main one in the lounge they came and repaired it when I told them but in my opinion that should have been checked before my family's arrival. Very low water pressure in both bathrooms shower in the ensuite in need of repair as shower head is floppy. I had informed the owner that my family would not be in the property for 2 nights on return we found out she had come into the house and turned down the heading my family returned again to a cold house. Some extra wood would have been nice for the savings she made as no use of power and water. No instructions were left in the property. My family all adults very respectful of the property. They left no rubbish, tidy up did not strip the beds. I will not be booking again this property,

  I knew this was going to be a good choice when I spoke to Sarah, the owner, in advance of our stay. Great communication and friendly and informative both ahead of and throughout our stay. We were lucky enough to meet Sarah and Miles on arrival as they were taking delivery of new garden furniture, they were both incredibly welcoming, friendly and helpful with local tips and information to help us make the most of our stay. That was before we even walked into the cottage which was absolutely outstanding. You can see it is designed with family and entertaining in mind.To say the kitchen is well stocked is an understatement, there was everything we needed for family meals for the 6 of us, large fridge freezer, more crockery and glasses than we could have used and a welcoming locally made cake was a nice touch and added bonus. The garden is stunning, although the weather wasn't amazing when we were there we managed a couple of meals outside and made good use of the BBQ. (I can recommend the Daylesford organic farm shop for good quality meat, cheeses and bread).The cottage is very clean and all necessary precautions taken to make it as safe as possible in current situation.Beds incredibly comfortable and good quality bedding and towels unlike some other cottages we've stayed at.I could not recommend the cottage highly enough and hope to re-visit if we can manage to secure a booking.

  This cottage is extremely well furnished with excellent linen on the beds plus high quality curtains, rugs, crockery and cooking equipment.

  There is a lovely outdoor space to sit at the table and have a bbq-sadly for us the weather wasn't appropriate for this. The bedrooms are extremely spacious. Bathrooms well appointed though we would have liked to have the underfloor heating on as the week was quite chilly. The heating system was set on 19 degrees so the house was chilly in the morning but warmed up in the day. The fire was amazing --we lit it every night and were so pleased with the availability of logs. The top floor bedroom hasn't a door to the stairs so that needs to be pointed out as one of our number took a tumble. The Cottage is in a beautiful village and near so many lovely places. We found lots of walks and visited Daylesford Organics and walked through the estate, plus we were only 2 miles from Clarksons Farm. We recommend Batsford Arboretum, garden centre and fantastic cafe. One of our favourite walks walks from Naunton to Guiting Power village and cafe and back--even though it was pouring with rain. A LOvely comfortable house, beautiful villages and wonderful scenery made a brilliant holiday for us.

  We hired Gardeners Cottage to celebrate my 70th birthday with the family and it couldn’t have provided a better venue for a wonderful long weekend. Furnishings, fittings and decor have been well thought out and the cottage was spotlessly clean. Having 2 sitting rooms would be very useful if you came with children. The kitchen has everything you could need and a good range of basic supplies. I appreciated the birthday card and cake, a very nice thought. We came from different directions in four cars and there was adequate off road parking. The garden is beautiful and equipped with table, chairs, outdoor furniture and BBQ, perfect for the pre dinner G & T! Location is great for the southern Cotswolds. Burford is only 4 miles and Bourton and Stowe are within easy reach. Shipton itself has a post office/store and 3 pub/restaurants although one, the Lamb, was closed while we were there. Other excellent pubs are not far away. Lots to do in the area and great walking country. In summary Gardeners Cottage is 100% recommended and we will be back!

  My wife and I are fortunate enough to be able to go on frequent holidays, as an example we have been on 7 this year and still have 2 to go.

  My reason for making this point is we have a lot of other cottages to compare with. The cottage itself is very spacious, comfortable and inviting. This cottage is the best equipped that we have been to. Silly things like, rolls of grease proof paper, foil and cling film, oils for cooking, and condiments. There is a dishwasher, as there has been in all of the cottages, but this is the only one where we haven't had to buy rinse aid and salt because the warning lights for both were on. The owner, Tom, couldn't have been more attentive and openly asks if you have any problems or recommendations for improvement. My thoughts on the area and things to do are all quite subjective, so I won't bother. As an example most people talk about lovely walks. My wife is in a wheelchair so this is not a huge pluss for us. Comfort and feeling like being in a home from home is, and to that degree I can't recommend Stow Cottage Barn enough. We shall definitely be going back, as often as we can.
