What our customers say about their holidays

Where to begin?
Hawthorn House is beautiful. The Garden is beautiful. Dogs ran around safely in the Garden with no concerns they may escape. The Garden also has a handy Picnic Table which we took full advantage of for eating at and playing board games on in the lovely sun as the Dogs languished or played on the lawn. The Hallway that greets you has a marvellous floor, leads through to the spacious Kitchen, whose window looks out onto the Garden. Kitchen has brilliant facilities and plenty of counter space. Small WC just before the Kitchen was very handy. Nice back door leading to the Garden, handy night light placed outside was very handy when the Dogs needed to be let out at night. Lounge is awesome, bijou, two lovely Sofas, nice large TV , cute fireplace with lovely mantle above it. Dining room is lovely and big, nice large dining table, fantastic not just for eating at but playing board games on too. Upstairs is great. Nice staircase leads to directly opposite a small and handy utility room with a stunning view out of its window. Next to the utility room is the main bathroom, lovely sized bath with an awesome anti slip mat that was really appreciated. Nice sized main bathroom. Hallway leads to the three bedrooms. Again, a great view from the master bedroom window. The other two bedrooms overlook Lower Lamphrey Road below. Beds wear made well, fresh linen , loads of towels supplied. Parking at Hawthorne House is great , the neighbours were extremely courteous, keeping the space outside Hawthorn House clear. As for the location of Hawthorn House, the town of Pembroke is literally at the end of the road. A handy One Stop shop for things you may need quickly was just off the roundabout. Aldi is a short car drive away. Freshwater Beach is about three miles away and is the other end of Lower Lamphery Road turn right and youâre more or less there, beach is Dog Friendly too, all of it. To sum up, Hawthorn House is a beautiful, comfortable, quiet place with a lovely Garden, lovely Neighbours, especially Rory the Cat, ideally placed. Tenby 10 miles away, Haverfordwest 11 miles away, Picton Castle about 7 miles away and Freshwater Beach about 3 miles away. Brilliant, beautiful home. Kelly is incredibly helpful and easy to reach should you need any questions answered. Her welcome pack is well thought out, easy to follow and very helpful. Thank you so much. We canât wait to return.

Unfortunately, my feedback on the property is not very positive.
Its located on an estate of similar properties in Cuffern which is over a mile away from Roch and is not really within walking distance as its down a narrow unlit lane. The property is spacious but generally in need of some TLC. For example, the paving/patio area needs jet washing, the picnic bench is green and covered with algae so we couldn't sit on it. No other outside seating is provided. Some areas inside the property also need attention. Floor tiles in the kitchen and bathroom need a deep clean, the shower doesn't drain properly and the freezer needs defrosting. The toilet seat was hanging off which my husband fixed! Table tops had not been wiped over and there was lots of dust on window sills, blinds and skirtings. Maybe the owner should speak to the property management company regarding these issues. With regard to comfort, the sofas are sagging and uncomfortable and the mattress on the king size bed is very hard despite the mattress topper. You'll need to take everything you need for cooking as only salt and pepper is provided. Some useful additions in the kitchen would be containers for storing food, cling film, pint glasses and ice cube trays. On a positive note, Pembrokeshire is a beautiful area of Wales with lots of lovely beaches such as Barafundle Bay, Broad Haven, White Sands Bay, Newport Beach. Its also worth taking a trip over the Preseli Mountains for the lovely views. Also, the pub in Roch, the Victoria In Brewhouse, has a micro-brewery and is well worth a visit but you'll need to drive there from the property.

We throughly enjoyed our stay at this cottage.
We stayed as a group of friends (4) but room for 6. This was a very spacious cottage over two levels and had plenty of room for 6 to fit comfortably alongside a kitchen full of everything youâd need for 6. We enjoyed brownies on our late arrival and arriving at night was no problem at all for the very accommodating owners. We annually go on a winter break to a cottage in West Wales and this was by far the best we have stayed in. The hot tub was amazing it maintained a hot temp throughout the night. It was also easy to use with the electric key system which meant the cover lifted itself to become the roof. This is way better than the struggle weâve had to remove and replace heavy covers in the past. The TV was a smart TV with all the major apps you would expect. The cottage was spotlessly clean and has been furnished to a very high standard. The friendly owner was reachable via text throughout the stay and kindly assisted with information for local pubs when we wanted to go and watch the rugby. I would 100% recommended this property, we loved it so much we are already planning on returning in the summer.

We loved our two week break.
Weather played ball also. The cottage had everything you need. We loved the patio areas front and back. The hot tub was special. There is a large shared (two other cottages) play park with zip line and two friendly horses and plenty parking. Beautiful surroundings from the raised patio seeing wildlife such as swallows and red kites. This is a working farm so expect cattle noise now and again. Any issues are resolved immediately by Catherine your amazing host who welcomed us with home made brownies. There is a local petrol garage with great shop. Not overpriced. It is an 8 minute car journey to Cardigan which has everything for shopping or dining. The bay farm park is a must for seeing seals and dolphins. I would say when you are there longer there needs to be more wardrobe space. But overall it was awesome. Thanks so much

Absolutely beautiful cottage and surroundings.
Just back from half term holiday here and we (myself, husband, teenager and two younger boys) had a fantastic time. Hosts went above and beyond to ensure we felt welcome and comfortable - thank you so much for the brownies, such a kind touch. Every single thing is really considered with this property, couldnât fault on thing. There were enough logs for a fire each evening, and pre-prepared fire for arrival. The amenities are fabulous, you have everything you could want, a real home from home and made cooking so easy. The hot tub was fab and the kids so enjoyed seeing and feeding carrots to the gorgeous super friendly goats. I feel so restored after a few days here and canât wait to go back. Surrounding area is beautiful for walks along the coast. Thank you so much for welcoming us into your property and all the thoughtful touches.
