Holiday Cottages In St. Ives

Holiday Cottages in St Ives

For the quintessential family holiday, choose from one of our extensive range of St Ives Cottages. This charming part of Cornwall has been hosting visitors for years, attracted to the area by its astonishing natural beauty. A particularly warm part of the UK, St Ives has got more than a whiff of the tropics about it, with palm trees fringing the beaches and supremely lush vegetation adding to the effect. On top of that, there are some first-class beaches to be found, with the temperate waters attracting playful dolphins, magnificent basking sharks (don’t worry, they’re vegetarians!), and seals who like to bask on the rocks.

However, our St Ives Cottages aren’t just for families; St Ives, with its rustic charm, makes an ideal holiday destination for couples who want to spend some quality time together. In addition to some superb attractions, St Ives has some excellent restaurants. If you’ve eaten more than your fair share of Cornish pasties, you’ll find some outstanding eateries that serve fresh fish or local meats and vegetables. You’ll even find some fine-dining establishments, perfect for a special night out.

What are the best attractions in St Ives?

If you’ve booked one of our holiday cottages in St Ives for the whole family, you’ll find yourselves just a short trip from some of Cornwall’s best attractions. You’ve got the world-famous Eden Project virtually down the road, Paradise Park wildlife sanctuary in nearby Hayle, and the Flambards Experience theme park, packed with rides, exhibits and things to see and do, in Helston. For a bit of old-school holidaymaking, St Ives Harbour Beach is just on your doorstep. Older children might like to take a trip to Porthmeor Beach, which is something of a Mecca for those who enjoy water sports, with everything from kayaking to surfing on offer.

Couples using our holiday cottages in St Ives as a base from which to explore the romantic side of Cornwall will be equally spoilt for choice. The Tate St Ives puts your finger on the pulse of the local art scene, while the Barbara Hepworth Museum showcases some amazing sculptures. The Minack Theatre is a supremely romantic setting in which to watch a play, and you can dip into Cornwall’s magical past with a visit to the standing stones of Men-an-Tol.

What our customers say about their holidays

  • David - Verified booking

I asked several times before travelling down as to whether there was a iron and ironing board in the house as i had a family event to attend.

Also, as the listing mentioned a pond but didn't show any images i asked if it was covered or safe with dogs about. I heard nothing back on either of these points. There was an iron and an ironing board but the board didn't have a cover. As for the pond, really think the word pond is stretching it. It was a large puddle in a stone. My dog liked to drink from it though which i discouraged him from obviously. The garden itself was lovely and well kept. Spent many a chilled hour. It has sun all day and really is a treat for this part of Cornwall. The house was like visiting your grandparents house. It had a real family owned feel, and was generally fine. There are lots of spiders but that didn't bother us. Really think though that a double bed rather than two singles in the backroom away from traffic noise would be an idea. There was dirty linen in a bag in the bathroom, and might have brought back some creepy crawlies with us but not sure if that came from the house. I loved the kitchen feel, and liked the way you could open up the door to the garden. Equipment wise it was all fine, feel the TV could do with an upgrade. All in all at the right price we would return!

Boundys House was wonderful even though on a very busy main road.

It had masses of space downstairs and a lovely garden. Beds were very comfortable. What was missing was inability to open windows (apart from the front bedroom which I occupied, and the toilet) as they seem to have been painted over. I always have to sleep with the window open so I could achieve that but the bathroom and other two bedrooms had sealed windows. The kitchen was very well equipped and there was plenty of crockery and cutlery and everything essential for cooking. We arrived by train so were using public transport to get around and it was so easy for us with the bus stops just yards from the house. We did find it a bit strange that only one toilet roll was supplied for 3 of us for 1 week! Clearly not anywhere near enough. I had requested ahead of our visit for a hairdryer and was told that it would be taken out of the locked area for me, and indeed it was there on arrival.

The house was very well equipped, with everything you would need.

Brilliant position near St Ives and very importantly near the railway station, which we made a lot of use of. Also the 2 parking spaces were invaluable. The shower was brilliant !! A nice lot of room with different rooms to choose from. Bedrooms nice and big with ample space. However i feel it would be prudent to add to the listing that the head height in some of the house goes down to about 5' 6 inches and at its max 6 foot ish, therefore anybody taller than that, i.e. myself at 6' 3, would find themselves ducking when moving around the house and a feeling of being a little hemmed in. Secondly the decor could do with updating and there is evidence of water staining quite extensively in the dining room ceiling. The garden could have done with a tidy up. Having said that we enjoyed our holiday in Cornwall but probably wouldn't return to that particular property.

Although the cottage was in a good location the road it was on was extremely busy.

People parked vans outside the windows each day and night therefore could not open the blinds as there was no privacy. The vans being parked there also made it difficult to see when driving off the driveway onto the busy main road. Not very clean, used cotton wool pad in the wardrobe. Cobwebs through out the cottage (I appreciate that it is an old building but a quick check would of rectified this) Kitchen window would not open. Dishwasher had been left on and we walked into suds all over the kitchen floor so we had to mop the floor before we could bring anything in from the car. It's a pretty, quirky cottage that just needs tweaking and better detail to cleaning. I wouldn't stay there again due to the lack of privacy and the the busy road that's not to say that I wouldn't recommend it as it does have a lovely garden at the rear and the location is good.

Godrevy met all our expectations and more.

Clean, bright and beautifully appointed property in one of the prime locations for St Ives. Short walk to the best beach out of 5 to chose from. The view from the large balcony (where 6 could easily eat al fresco is dramatic. Each bedroom have a dedicated bathroom ( one ensuite) and the top floor bedroom is vast ( we had that and let our daughter have the ground floor with ensuite). 4 min walk to a Spar with most of what you need for self catering (Tesco was other side of the Town through the busy high street ). The large garden with BBQ and lots of seats also makes a large family / small group stay even more inviting. Other adjacent properties owned are owned by Liz so lots of options available. If you got to St Ives or this part of Cornwall we highly recommend staying here.
