What our customers say about their holidays
Ms Mortimer - Verified booking
Firstly, the parking information from OC needs to be updated. Someone commented on this in Oct 2022 and it’s still hasn’t been done. If OC gave out the info that’s in the information guide in the cottage, neighbours wouldn’t be disturbed by guests arriving and trying to understand where they can and cannot park. OC are great at keeping you informed and it’s a shame that this hasn’t been sorted out. The cottage is warm and very comfortable. The welcome pack of goodies and the kitchen / bathroom packs are a nice touch. The one log in the basket by the fire hardly constitutes as a basket of logs and there wasn’t any kindling so we had to use the papers that were left. We had seen comments re this prior to our holiday so took logs etc with us. There wasn’t an oven glove which made pulling stuff out of the oven a bit dangerous but the rest of the kitchen equipment was good. Nice to have some nice sharp knives for a change in a holiday let. Overall the cottage was clean, this has obviously been rectified after recent comments made by guests. Some TLC required downstairs. The location is great. We know the area very well so know that there’s not much in Craster apart from The Jolly Fisherman, which is fantastic and Robsons Smokehouse. As long as you know that beforehand you can ensure you have all you need with you. It’s a fantastic base for coastal and country walks and visiting other places up and down the Northumbrian Coast. I’d say this property is great for 4 people (adults) but any more, unless they were children you might struggle a bit with bathroom facilities. Overall we had a great week and we enjoyed our stay at Pegasus Cottage, would we return….probably not as there are so many other properties to choose from.

Nice quiet location 2 minutes from beach.
No issues with parking outside the property. Property was very clean, well presented and pleasantly decorated. There was a welcome pack and small toiletries pack which is a lovely touch. Great kitchen and shower was great. The main bedroom is massive with plenty of storage. Tvâs in all the bedrooms as well as lounge and kitchen. Bathroom layout a little awkward with vanity sink and radiator near door. We didnât find the bed and sofa comfy but thatâs down to personal preference. Only seating for 4 in lounge (although extra chair in single bedroom off the lounge could be moved). We would have liked a larger sofa ! We didnât use the outside sofa due to the weather but this will be great in the summer. The property heating controls were easy to use heated up the rooms quickly. Overall we would recommend this property and we enjoyed our stay

The cottage was lovely and we did have a great time Just a few small things… There were no welcome logs on our arrival Some cereal/pasta bowls would be useful The info folder in the cottage would benefit from an update- the parking area was not clearly signed and there wasn’t clear instruction that the bins needed taking to the front of the property on collection day- we copied other people but the recycling bin was still full from previous occupants on our arrival. A note to say that glass has to be taken to the main car park area would be useful. The shower could do with an update and wasn’t particularly clean- also you can’t run any other taps in the property whilst the shower is in use! No fault of the owners but the entire back entrance path was littered with nails from a roofing job which caused us 2 punctures.

There were a few things that could have been better: 1. Some light bulbs were broken and needed replacing. 2. The cooker extractor fan dud not work. 3. There was a piece of burnt toast in the oven. 4. One of the beds in the twin room has missing slats and they kept falling out. We had to do a temporary fix with some loo roll to keep them wedged in place. One of the children is very light so if a heavy adult slept in there they would not hold their weight. 5. The wood burner stove glass was filthy. It didn’t take a lot fit my husband to clean it so we could enjoy seeing the flames. The cottage was in a lovely position and very cosy.

July 2022 - A wonderful stay.
Many thanks Nicola and Chris for a wonderful stay in the delightful Lobster Pot Retreat. The lovely welcoming pack was a kind gesture. It is a beautiful property with very attractive decor and soft furnishings, comfy beds, an excellent shower, and friendly neighbours either side. With only a two minute walk to the front, it is a great location. We had some great nature sightings at Church point including a glimpse of a Minke Whale and many wader birds. We really enjoyed the food at The Endeavour cafe, and our favourite meal was at Due Fratelli ( Italian) which was superb. Hope to return soon. Chris and Meryl from Derby
