Formerly the living quarters for a pub frequented by Horatio Nelson, this characterful property now makes a lovely holiday home for families and friends. Offering cosy, light-filled accommodation for up to seven guests, the cottage has been stylishly updated, with tasteful and quirky decor, and an attractive range of furnishings throughout. Set in the heart of Wells-next-the-Sea, this delightful hideaway features exposed beams and brickwork, and provides a fantastic backdrop for walkers, nature lovers and beach fans exploring an idyllic part of Norfolk.

The stylishly arranged kitchen/diner has plenty of equipment so you can cook and share all your favourite dishes. Steep ladder-style stairs lead up to the second floor where you will find a fantastic loft-style twin bedroom. A second loft space has seating offering views out over the quay and towards the sea. Outside, there’s an enclosed front patio, and a charming furnished terrace which can be reached from the first floor and makes a lovely space to sit out and take in the sunshine as you settle back with a glass of wine in the evening.

The location was excellent - right by the quay in Wells and near to the main shopping street. The cottage was quirky and interesting, on several different levels and with fascinating history. It was extremely well equipped and comfortable - a great place in a lovely part of the country.

Perfect location for enjoying all that Wells has to offer. The parking space outside the property was a real bonus. Easy flat walking around the harbour, the town and along to the stunning beach. The property is very quiet considering how close it is to the hustle and bustle of the quayside. First floor deck is a lovely place to enjoy the sunshine. So many places to eat and drink within walking distance. Beds are extremely comfortable, spacious property with everything you need. Thanks for a wonderful stay.

We loved our stay at The Ship. The cottage was spotlessly clean and so well equipped. There was everything we needed and so many extra thoughtful touches. I've never been to a holiday rental that provided a slow cooker before! The cottage is spacious and provided easy holiday living. We loved the top floor rooms that we nick- named The Crow's Nest. I think the biggest recommendation we can give is that we have already rea-booked for a week next year.
