What our customers say about their holidays
Mrs Grimshaw - Verified booking
Both pros and cons to this cottage! One of the twin mattresses was awful and needs replacing immediately, it creaks and groans and you can feel every spring. It was really uncomfortable & noisy! Under the twin beds hadn’t been dusted or mopped. Pans are no longer non stick & should be replaced. Bed runners (twin) were dirty and hadn’t been cleaned between guests. Pills (twin) are flat & need replacing. Double bed was too short for a man of 6’ 2”. However, the cottage is excellently located, a 16-minute walk to Padstow town centre. It was very convenient to have parking spaces as parking in Padstow itself looks a nightmare. We had a delivery from Sainsbury but there is a Tesco up the road. Hob is induction which is far better than the electric you find in most holiday cottages! Plenty of plates & glasses etc although we had to wash them on arrival. Lots to do in Padstow, it’s a really good location for a couples or family holiday. We also did a 5km walk from the town, and walked to St George’s Cove, from the cottage. Just be warned, if you have a child, every stair & upstairs floorboard creaks; it was impossible to ‘creep’ out having got my daughter to sleep without waking her. There is a downstairs single but it’s right next to the lounge area so not great for noise, plus from a safety perspective I don’t like having a child downstairs with adults upstairs. All in all, a decent stay, but could have been so much better with a few small tweaks and a bit more care, especially considering what it cost.

We had an amazing break at Sea Sands in March 2022.
The property is amazing and the photos donât quite do it justice. The view from the living room and master bedroom is breathtaking and the careful details in the design of the building and layout truly make this special. We had no problems with our stay at all, however the owner Gina was very friendly providing all of the relevant information needed for our stay prior to visiting. The accommodation itself was modern and sleek but still kept its homely and comfortable feel. The property is airy and bright and the furnishings are high quality. Peaceful and natural surroundings brought a feeling of calm throughout the entire week, especially looking out to such a wonderful view of the sea. The hot tub was brilliant, including the outside hot shower which is a blessing in winter months. High quality towels and bedding provided, along side toiletries and a lovely welcome pack which is a really nice touch. There is everything you can think of regarding cooking equipment and this was the highest standard of any property we have stayed in. I canât speak highly enough of this property and would highly recommend to anyone looking to explore the Cornish coast.

Mrs Joy Frances-Tatem - Verified booking
Poor kitchen equipment for cooking, lack of decent glasses. No actual wine glasses they were plastic. The tumblers were chipped. No Sonos speakers as in description. So no personal music could be played. The entrance door to roof top was stiff and subsequently cut hand, the floor was filthy and slippery to the stairs of the rooftop. The karcher should have been put away. The welcome book was not easily found, the information on rubbish and recycling was not clear. Disappointing that no equipment was in the upstairs kitchen so has to split what little was available downstairs. The freezer in the utility room couldn’t open properly due to the toilet so it wasn’t very clean inside and the door sharp where it was broken previously where I’m imagine people were trying to put things in there. Finally the flooring by the sink in the downstairs kitchen is a trip hazard and numerous times there were accidents where the flooring had lifted. The tap in kitchen is broken. And also we had the plumber out to fix the bath tap as it had broken.

Sea Sands is beautiful, luxurious and comfortable.
It has everything you could need and it offers magnificent unobstructed views across the Celtic Sea! A spectator sport is to watch the shipping, air traffic or the wait to spot sea life with your binoculars. The sky at night is also a beautiful sight with the Milky Way right above you. Watch out too for the space station and star link satellite train if the clear skies permit. It is minutes away from the beautiful beach where the surfers love to play and at the permitted time of year the dogs can also roam. Praa Sands is lovely, a small place with few shops and pubs but what it's got is more than enough if you like simplicity, some pub grub, and the freshest sea air while you sip your favourite tipple. Gina (property owner) keeps a watchful eye on the standard you should expect on arrival and mid-way and was quick to sort a few minor issues. She is friendly and very helpful. All together a wonderful holiday destination and we hope to be back very soon. :-)
