A stunning property situated on the hill above Matlock, Box Tree Cottage offers splendid views over the Derwent Valley. With its upmarket decor and a warm log burning stove, it provides the perfect hideaway in one of the most tranquil locations in the town.
Concealed in the grounds of the 18th-century Wellfield House, it provides the perfect spot for a glass of wine on the patio whilst gazing across to the lofty limestone crag of High Tor towering in the distance. The cottage makes an ideal base for hikers, with many rambling routes available from the doorstep, whilst the town of Matlock offers numerous bars and restaurants to cater for a variety of tastes. With the famous Chatsworth House and Haddon Hall situated in the surrounding hills and steam trains and tramway museums close by, there is plenty to keep all ages entertained!
Size: Sleeps 4 in 2 bedrooms; please note that one bedroom (en suite, with its own TV and tea/coffee making facilities) is accessed along the terrace; there is no inter-connecting door
Beds: 2 king-size bedrooms (zip & link - can be made into twin beds upon request)
Families: sorry, no infants/toddlers under 2 years of age; no cot or highchair available and the grounds are not suitable for toddlers
Rooms: Open plan lounge, dining room, kitchen area, king-size bedroom with adjoining bathroom with bath/shower over and WC; separate spacious king-size bedroom with shower room and WC, accessed via an external door, along the terrace
Kitchen & utilities: Cooker, microwave, fridge and dishwasher together with a washer and freezer in the garage
Entertainment: T.V., DVD, Freeview and Wi-Fi
Outside: Patio with furniture
Parking: Gated secure parking for three cars
General: Linen and towels are provided. Central heating, power and an initial supply of fuel for the stove are included.
