  Lovely old, atmospheric, cottage with an even lovelier garden!

  The variety of plants in the garden competes with a castle walled garden! We spent hours watching the birds, fish and dragonflies, and relaxed completely in the beautiful surroundings. Garden was laid out in a way, with bushes and trees, with lawn in between, that the children played hide-and-seek for hours. Owner was extremely friendly, giving us ideas for family trips and good restaurants, and brought a lemon drizzle cake on arrival at the cottage! The house is well maintained and contained everything we could possibly have needed: storage space, comfortable beds, bedding, kitchen appliances, puzzles, table tennis, DVDs, lovely sized bath, conservatory and separate shower room! We felt so at home, but the attention to detail made it feel like a hotel holiday. Huge compliment to the owner. We visited lots of National Trust sites but also larger towns like Hereford or Shrewsbury, and the scenery whilst driving was breathtaking. We hiked in the area too, and further afield in the Brecon Beacons. The beauty of this area, the wildlife, the owner's welcome and support, the cottage and garden, the historical locations, and the river all contributed to one of the most relaxing but stimulating holidays (with three children under 12 years of age! ) for years! We would love to come back, and the memories will remain a lifetime.

  Host was very welcoming, it is rare these days to get an in person greeting to hand over the key! The lemon cake was a welcome treat and delicious. Thank you. Some poetic license taken in the listing, the 'sun room' is a small lean to connecting the back door to the downstairs toilet! Decor is very dated, some evidence of fresh painting but other areas could benefit from a refresh. If you are looking for a boutique experience this is not for you! But the beds and pillows were very comfortable, lots of towels provided, nice hot shower and all the expected facilities e.g. dishwasher etc. Could benefit from a few upgrades e.g. more plugs, bigger fridge, new cooker (grill not the best), a smart TV, but all still usable. Restrictions to parking in front of house during the week but there is nearby off road parking affiliated to the house. Is on the main street/one way system but we didn't notice the noise/traffic when in doors. Some smashing shops in Narberth, house is a very short walk to the shops, highly recommend you try the pastries from the Rock 'n Dough bakery, and pies from Andrew Rees & Sons butchers. A lovely cafe 'Stopio' just a short walk away does some super breakfasts and cake.

  Lower Court Byre is not showy but quite simply a place of great beauty and warmth.

  The lovely garden, inspired by Claude Monet's Garden at Giverny, is a place of quiet refreshment, and is, indeed, a place difficult to leave. We were thrilled to see woodpeckers and a heron by the lake. The birds are so used to human beings they come to the feeding station when one is only a few yards away at the picnic table. The house is well thought-out and carefully arranged. eg. There is a hand towel in both toilets, obviating the need to traipse around finding one and the fire was a dream to light, to tend and to enjoy. We were welcomed by a whole and magnificent lemon cake and a more than helpful family who were really pleased to offer advice about the kind of things we might enjoy. The place and their whole attitude conspired to make this one of the most regenerative holidays we have ever enjoyed. We think this was partly because we did not feel like tenants but welcome visitors.

  Lovely, comfy bungalow in the heart of Morfa Nefyn! We really enjoyed our stay and the house had everything we needed. Lovely beds, furnishings & a well-equipped kitchen. Delighted with our welcome bottle of wine & chocs too. Garden was perfect for our dogs ( although gaps in fence may not be suitable for smaller breeds) and the location is perfect! We could walk to the golf club in 10 minutes for incredible headland views then enjoy a coffee at the little cafe at the bottom of the hill. Sun terrace at the cliffs pub is a great spot for sunset watching too. Local shop at the garage is a minutes walk & has a good range of essentials. Super place to base yourself for exploring the peninsula - we travelled out to Abersoch, Pwhelli, Criccieth, Llanbedrog, and more. Recommend checking out the local brewery for a drink too! Would definitely return to this charming property.

  I cannot recommend Lower Court Byre highly enough, is the most comfortable cottage we have ever stayed in.

  It was spotlessly clean and really well equipped. All the rooms are large and airy, super comfortable furniture in the lounge and the beds were fabulous. There is a good sized fridge in the kitchen and a 3 drawer freezer and washing machine in the utility room. We went with our grandchildren aged 6 and 7 and found the garden and grounds absolutely perfect for them to play in. There are birds galore and a kingfisher fishing from the bridge over the pond in the morning was breathtaking. The owners were both really friendly and kind and a pleasure to chat with. Thank youTrevor and Monica. Just one little thought, a blind or curtain for the arched kitchen window would be nice, give that bit more privacy. But that’s only one tiny comment and in no way would it stop us returning.
