Dent is near the banks of the gushing River Dee, and the Dales Way runs past here also. This long distance path is an impressive undertaking, and even if you can’t walk the whole thing it is still a lovely place to hike along for an afternoon. Despite being a small village it has an interesting history; known for knitting and the famous Adam Sedgwick. The Daledent Visitors Centre has plenty of information about the lives of those who lived here years before. It is a beautiful and unspoilt village to visit.
