The Captain's Cabin in Whitby receives high praise for its excellent accommodation, well-furnished interiors, and stunning views. Guests appreciate the welcoming atmosphere, clean and tidy spaces, and the relaxing hot tub. The large garden and patio add to the charm, and the property's location is ideal for exploring nearby attractions. It's a hit with families and groups seeking a comfortable and scenic getaway.
Reviewers consistently mention the property being clean and tidy, indicating top marks for cleanliness.
The property's proximity to Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay, and Scarborough, along with its scenic views, suggest an excellent location. However, one mention of concern about arriving in the dark slightly lowers the score.
Guests find the bedrooms very comfortable and the overall atmosphere relaxing, especially with the hot tub, indicating a high level of comfort.
The property boasts high-quality appliances, a hot tub, and a garden room. The lack of mention of any maintenance issues suggests great facilities, but without explicit comments on maintenance, the score is just shy of perfect.
While guests express overall satisfaction, there are no specific mentions of gifts or special touches that would indicate thoughtfulness. Therefore, this score cannot be determined from the reviews provided.
An enticing Yorkshire holiday home, set in an enviable position, this impressive retreat captures commanding views out along the dramatic coastline and out to sea. Sleeping eight guests across three bedrooms in the main cottage and one in an annexe, this outstanding hideaway, which nestles in beautiful gardens with a hot tub, makes an idyllic base for an extended family or a group of friends. Situated 1 mile from picture-postcard perfect Robin Hood’s Bay, with its sandy beach and rock pools, it is great for exploring both the Yorkshire Heritage Coast and the North York Moors. It is 5 miles from colourful Whitby, with its long beach, independent shops and eateries and famous abbey ruins. Keen walkers can also follow the Cleveland Way for 7 miles out along the clifftops to reach Whitby on foot. Scarborough, 16.5 miles away, with its dramatic castle, is also worth visiting during your stay.
Tear yourselves away from the incredible views to enter the cottage via the porch, where there is access to a downstairs WC and ample space to slip off your walking boots or wellies. From here, head on into the open-plan kitchen/diner, where glass sliding doors that bring the light and sea views flooding in can be pulled open to the balcony. Find everything you need in this well-designed area to help you cater for your party during your stay. There is also lots of room to congregate round the table for lively holiday meals. The lounge is also a fabulous social space. Here stylish Italian sofas have been carefully arranged so you can warm yourselves beside the crackling wood burner after autumn and winter walks or watch the Smart TV when you are not taking in the panoramic views and sweeping seascapes from the window. The inviting bedrooms in the main cottage include two superb king-sizes and a twin. There is also a family bathroom here. The adjoining annexe, which provides accommodation for two members of your group who might enjoy some privacy and independence, is accessed externally. Here you will find another lovely king-size bedroom, together with an en-suite shower room and lounge/kitchenette, with another Smart TV.
The attractive, enclosed garden is very much the jewel in the crown of this truly special Yorkshire cottage. A large terrace is the perfect place to cook out in the fresh air on the BBQ, then dine together in the sunshine. Steps lead down to the hot tub, seating areas and beautiful rolling lawn. There is a pergola and a summerhouse, where you can open a bottle of wine and take in the views, plus a firepit for gathering around under the stars. There is private off-road parking here for four cars.

Amazing property within a beautiful and scenic location. You could spend a week taking in the views! Owners have gone above and beyond to make this spectacular holiday home. Would highly recommend to anyone whether group of friends or full family. Plenty to keep everyone entertained at the property, plus Whitby, Robin Hoods Bay and Scarborough are very easily accessible. 10/10, will definitely stay again!
