  The house is truly gorgeous! Immaculately clean and very well equipped. Stylish and extremely comfortable. I simply didn’t want to leave… the view from the attic bedroom is fabulous and you can also see the river from the main bedroom. Everything is finished to a high spec and furnished practically. A very thoughtful welcome hamper with Cornish goodies and clear instructions about arrival etc. Logs supplied, so we had a couple of cosy nights with a roaring fire. I would return in a heartbeat! There is a parking place reserved in a car park about 10 minutes walk away (2 routes) all uphill and very steep, but it certainly upped our step count and heart rate! But that’s part of Fowey’s charm, steep hills, higgledy streets and great views. Independent shops and great eateries, friendly folk, river trips, Du Maurier, and the cute car ferry which looks exactly as it did 27 years ago! I would highly recommend making Place View your home for your hols.

  Our third visit to Yardarm & as previously had a lovely week. The house is presented & finished to a very high standard. The milk & excellent bottle of wine were very welcoming. The whole house has become so familiar it feels just like being at home. The new bathroom & shower are a perfect upgrade. We were very lucky with the weather after a slow start to the summer, wall to wall sunshine for most of the week. A great base for walking, cycling, cooking great food & relaxing with a beer & a glass of wine after the activities of the day come to a close. Thanks to the owners for sharing this property in such a beautiful area of the country. It’s perfect.

  Our first stay at Yardarm Cottage but we will no doubt be back again! We have had a fantastic two-week stay and found the property offered us the perfect setting for our holiday in Fowey. Location is excellent and we enjoyed being right in the centre of the town. The facilities at the property were excellent with no issues and we spent a good few evenings in and cooking when we did not want to eat out. Highly recommended, and we thought the communications ahead of our stay from Original Cottages were very clear and spot on.

  This was a wonderful home and we were delighted to rent it for the week - thank you! We LOVED the overall design and feel - beautiful. Really thoughtful touches like the non-slip covers on the sofas, the twin fridges, the electric blinds, the bi-fold doors, the new ensuite shower room with heated mirror - the list could go on. This home has a beautifully thought-through design and implementation - high quality fixtures and fittings. Thanks too for the welcome tray, including wine (!) on arrival - nice touch.

  Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Yardarm Cottage and Fowey overall. A very modern and well equipped property in a fantastic location with great views over the estuary. We really couldn't fault anything and definitely worth the rental charge. It's worth noting that you need to be relatively fit and physically able to stay in the property due to the fact that it is accessed via steps from the pathway and there is no direct road access to the property but that is the same for many Fowey properties.
