Hope House in Whitby is highly praised for its excellent location, charming character, and thoughtful touches like dog treats and a welcome bottle of wine. Guests appreciate the property's cleanliness, proximity to local attractions, and the cosy, well-equipped environment. While some guests noted areas for improvement, the overall sentiment is very positive, with many looking forward to returning.
The majority of guests found the property to be very clean. One review mentioned it was 'very clean', reinforcing the positive feedback. However, one guest had concerns about worn bedding and towels, which slightly impacts the overall score.

Facilities are well-regarded, with mentions of a well-equipped kitchen and cosy atmosphere. Nonetheless, there are remarks about the cooker being outdated and the outdoor space not being as expected, indicating that some facilities may need updating or better description.
Several reviews mention thoughtful gestures such as dog treats and a welcome bottle of wine, which guests appreciated. It should be noted that while these touches are well-received, they are not guaranteed for every stay.

The house is really atmospheric and the decor works fantastic with the image of it. The kitchen is well equipped and the house very cosy
Mrs Anderson
Location is brilliant as it's in walking distance to Whitby town centre and, if you're lucky, parking is free outside the property. The property was clean and tidy and has many original features however the main living room is very dark and dingy. There was plenty of hot water with good pressure and the central heating worked well. Thankfully there is a microwave as the cooker has seen better days. The outside yard, described as a place to get some fresh air, is actually a 10ft by 5ft walled in space to access the outside toilet, washing machine and back gate. No one in their right mind would consider sitting out there! The master bedroom is over full with period furniture to the point that the door doesn't open properly which is very poor as it is at the top of a very steep stairway and small landing. The beddng is worn, old and in need of replacing or repair. The bathroom is very nice and the cast iron bath is quite comfy however the towels are old, discoloured and threadbare.
